[APP][Pro] Magic Home LED

Nice  Glad it works!

Dear Martijn,

since a few weeks my Magic Home operated RGBW Bulbs arenā€™t recognized in homey anymore. Try to reset, redownloaded the app on homey etc but now I donā€™t see the bulbs at all. Has there been an update because it used to work perfectly before?

Hi @Jeroen_Buis !

Last update was March 2024. So nothing has changed.
Most of the time this is a networking issue.

Things you can try:

  • Restart Homey
  • Check IPā€™s and make sure Homey is in same network as Magic Home
  • Restart router (most of the time this works, no idea why)
  • remove fixed IP address on magic home controllers (homey find them in your network automatically)

Thanks Martijn!

I donā€™t have any fixed ipā€™s so restart of modem was the trick i guess. It worked and my flows work again too.

@Jeroen_Buis great to hear! :slight_smile:

Hello Martijn,

Your application is one of the first that I installed on my Homey, I am more than satisfied.

Recently I saw that the app supports addressable LED strips soā€¦. more light :stuck_out_tongue:

I ordered this strip (Cob LEDs are really crazy):

But Iā€™m having trouble, I read the whole thread and my problem seemed similar to Patrikā€™s but I canā€™t figure it out

When I add the device to the Magic Home app:

Uploading: Captur56434e.PNGā€¦

and it appears on the PC software

Uploading: 4554Capture.PNGā€¦

The script gives this:

Uploading: 444Capture.PNGā€¦

I investigated the network problems but I came up empty handed, Homey and the ribbon are on the same network

Uploading: 4455Capture.PNGā€¦

on Homey I can turn the banner on or off if I Alt+left click on the module (it turns on and off correctly)

There is an FVTLED application (obviously this was not specified in the article sheet ^^) and with this one the strip is well controlled

Okay, I think Iā€™ve covered everything without missing a single piece of information.

Thank you very much!

Hi @Geoffrey_Quiroz !

Your images didnā€™t load but think I get the issue your facing

One of the first things we can try;
Can you change the model the device to a AK0001-ZJ2148 in the device settings of the controller in homey?
Thatā€™s the addressable led model which hopefully should work

Hello,

Here is the image that was missing when adding the device to the Magic Home app.

I changed the device model and restarted the app and even Homey but it doesnā€™t work

@Geoffrey_Quiroz do you know which controller it is?

Honestly, I have no idea; it looks like the classic Magic Home module.

How can I find out more?

@Geoffrey_Quiroz you can also upload your image into the forum. Makes it easier to follow

Can you find a number inside the magic home app?

When I add the device to the Magic Home app:

and it appears on the PC software

The script gives this:

I investigated the network problems but I came up empty handed, Homey and the ribbon are on the same network

This device

@Geoffrey_Quiroz I hate to say it
But that device is not supported
Magic home changed significant and this product is not configured as far as I know

But as the pc software is using the same SDK as I do. Is that working?
Think you use this right? https://magic-control.skrebe.me/

No, heā€™s really weird.

Well, too bad, thank you very much for the time you spent on my case.
Our disappointment is mutual (damn industrialist, unable to agree ^^)

Thanks again

@Geoffrey_Quiroz for what itā€™s worth. I can lookup the magic home controller I have for addressable leds

Alternative could be a esp32 with WLeD

I tinker a little, I roughly know how to root a circuit board, but when it comes to code/firmware, Iā€™m out of my depth.

Could you point me in the right direction to a source that would allow me to build my own controllers compatible with your application?

@Geoffrey_Quiroz I have no idea if thatā€™s possible
