Hyves for Homey

Connect your Hyves account to Homey and use Hyves data directly in devices, Advanced Flow and widgets. View profile information, notifications, friend requests and timeline activity, and use device-based Flow cards to automate supported Hyves actions.

The integration uses Hyves’ personal, non-public interface and may therefore require changes if Hyves updates its app, API or sign-in procedure.

Linking your Hyves account

  1. Download the Hyves Homey Login Helper here, then extract the ZIP file. The helper is a Google Chrome extension.

  2. Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, and select Load unpacked.

  3. In Homey, go to Add Device → Hyves → Hyves.

  4. Open Hyves.nl and login into your account.

  5. The helper automatically captures the callback. Return to the Hyves devices pairing, paste the callback into the input field that appears, and complete the sign-in process.

  6. You can then add the Hyves device.

The Homey app and browser helper do not store your Hyves password. Never share callbacks or tokens with anyone.

Hyves does not provide a public consumer API. If a non-public Hyves endpoint changes, the Hyves device will remain available and will continue to work. The device status and widget will then indicate that Hyves is temporarily unavailable, instead of making the entire device unavailable.

Important: Use the same email address of your account are registered at Hyves app or website.

:white_check_mark: Account Verification: Homey verifies that the new token belongs to the same Hyves account before updating the device.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Automatic Refresh After Repair: After a successful repair, the connection status is restored and Hyves data is refreshed immediately.

:shield: Improved Diagnostics Privacy: Diagnostics only report token state such as present, valid or expired. The actual authentication token is never included.

:link: Short Connection Lifetime Fix: Fixed the main cause of Hyves accounts becoming disconnected shortly after linking because only the temporary access token was previously stored.

:repeat_button: 401 Recovery Fix: When an authenticated request receives a 401, the app can now refresh the session and retry the original request automatically.

:wrench: Existing Device Repair Fix: Existing Hyves devices can be upgraded to the new refresh-token authentication without removing the device, so existing Flows and widgets remain intact.

:warning: Login Helper Update Required download again from the first post.

To use the new automatic session refresh, download and install the new Hyves Homey Login Helper v0.2.0 again.

:recycling_symbol: Automatic Token Rotation: When Hyves returns a new access token or refresh token, the app stores the new credentials automatically for future requests.

:shield: Safer Connection Handling: Temporary API or network problems no longer immediately mark the account as disconnected. Repair is only required when Hyves actually rejects the stored authentication credentials.
