Dear @Emile,
Dear @Doekse,
Timo Wendt, the former Homey Homematic app developer, shared this information with us users at the end of March this year.
The initial joy and hope that the app would finally be developed further has now turned into frustration for many users, as the app has not been updated once since then.
I am writing to you because, according to Timo’s information, you, resp. Athom, were involved in the takeover. Do you have any information on why the app has not been developed any further so far?
Unfortunately, there is no way to contact the current developer. The information about the owner of the repository has been updated on GitHub, but there is no response to any issue reports or requests for new devices.
What can you say about the current situation? Will the app be developed further?
And no, a Homematic Cloud app is not an alternative to this local app version!
Yes, we were indeed involved in the transition of the HomeMatic CCU app for Homey from Timo to Lex at WebArray. Lex is one of our partnered developers who works on official apps for various brands, but in this case, he’s handling the HomeMatic CCU app as a personal project. He also uses the app himself, so it’s something he’s invested in—but just to clarify, it’s not a paid project from our side. I’ll reach out to Lex to see the best path forward, though I know he’s juggling quite a bit!
On a related note, we’ve finally (after speaking with about 30 different people on their side) connected with HomeMatic directly and are exploring an official integration with their new hub, which will include official APIs.
Does that mean a new App will appear for Homematic IP?
Cause now, I have window blinds from Easy Sunway, which are triggered by Homematic IP Hub, using a Somfy remotecontroller. This combination was installed by a Interieur company, but they gave no feedback on domotica.
And whatever I try, i dont get them to work within Homey.
Sunway app only works with other remotes, not with the one I have. (somfy one looks different)
I even have a Tahoma Switch, but doenst work with blinds.
Homatic IP also cant connect to them
Not sure where to start solving this, or if its usefull to start a topic about this.
I have a lot of Homematic IP devices on my CCU3. I bought a Homey to improve the interaction of my Homematic devices with other devices like Hue or LG and to be able to control them across platforms.
I am struggling to add two types of devices that are generally supported by the app but only in white (color) but I have them in anthracite and I guess this is the reason the devices are not regorgnized. Then Homematic adds an “-A” to the device type.
HmIP-WRC6-A
HmIP-WRC2-A
Can someone please be so kind and help me to get these devices running.
The app developer is the only one who can add devices. On GitHub, you have already asked the app developer to add your devices, which is correct.
But if the app developer doesn’t have the time or interest…
@Doekse, now 2 months have passed and there is no progress and no response from the app developer.
However, there are plenty of requests for new devices and reports of bugs.
What is the current status?
I could not agree more. @Doekse The official Homematic support for ccu3 was the main reason for me to buy a Homey Pro. With the official support I immediately had the feeling that this is the right solution to replace my home assistant. Unfortunately, I did not check if the Homematic app was updated in the last month, then it was official and I expected that.

It didn’t work for me. I’ve got a fork running now, and it works fine. Unfortunately, not all new devices are included, but maybe the developer is more active.
Hi, I could help you. I was also annoyed that my new devices weren’t working. I’ve now created a fork and added new devices. The A series is easy because they only differ in the model number. I’ll do it this evening, then it will be version 0.24.3
But it only works with Jack CCU because the old one with XML didn’t work for me either. I’m doing it on the side but if anyone has something else I’ll try. You can also run it as a 2nd app and for example only for those that aren’t available in the old one.
until something official comes which is actually promised
Today, eQ3 published the new plugin-connect-API documentation for their new HCU. Are you considering this to make Homematic devices compatible with Homey? Sounds very promising!
I’m currently using a Homematic IP setup with the following components:
Homematic IP Access Point
2x 12-channel zone controllers (proportional control)
Proportional stepper motor actuator
Homematic IP thermostats
Wall thermostat with humidity sensor
I’m looking to integrate this setup with Homey (Pro) for a simple but important use case:
I want to see the temperature (and ideally humidity) per room in my Homey dashboard — and if possible, also control some basic settings like room temperature or heating mode.
Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that Homey currently only supports Homematic via a CCU (CCU2, CCU3 or RaspberryMatic) and not via the Homematic IP Access Point, which is what I’m using. Since many newer Homematic IP installations are based on the Access Point (especially for heating control), I believe native support or cloud-based integration would be extremely valuable for a large and growing user base. Is there a way how to fix this..?
