After succesfully pairing 5 zw fireangel smoke detectors i now have one that doesnt pair.
What could be the reason?
At which stage does it fail to pair?
I click 3 times on the zwave reset button to start the pairing, the zwmodule starts blinking but then nothing happens anymore. Homey doesnt see the module
Could you try fully resetting the module and trying again?
Did a reset, no change
The smoke sensor is pline could it be that zw module must be also pline?
UPDATE: I put the problematic zwave module in a different smoke sensor and still it doesn’t connect to the network
what is strange is that the smoke sensor itself might be faulty too because when i put a working zw module in that smoke sensor it gives hardware error status message when pushing the smoke sensor test button
The hardware error you’re seeing is probably caused by the module detecting a different smoke alarm. During pairing, the module is paired to that specific smoke alarm. If you later switch it to another one, you’ll need to fully reset the module first. Otherwise, it will trigger a hardware alarm.
The only other thing I can think of is trying to hold the module closer to Homey during pairing. If that doesn’t help, it might unfortunately be a faulty module.
