@martijnpoppen I didn’t do anything, but this morning the sensor and light seemed to be working normally. I don’t understand
@martijnpoppen Weird thing happened to me after the latest release. Before the app and my camera was rocksolid.
Today one of my flows wasn’t executed the right way. After I looked into it I found out that the Eufy Security App is “half installed”. I can see the app, even the device but it’s offline.
When I try to restart the app I get a red error “Not Installed”.
Unfortunately all my flows with Eufy Security cards are broken.
Do you have a solution for it? Can I restore something?

@Philipp_sch that’s a homey issue
But you can install it via the app store
Hmm..
Just re-install and hopefully it will restore everything or delete and install ?
@Philipp_sch re-install don’t delete
Deleting will remove everything
Sorry if you have allready answered this @martijnpoppen, but is videostreaming possible with this app?
For my Eufy camera, I have the option to activate rtsp stream, and I get a URL for this. This works great on my local network through vlc, and I have even set it up to host through go2rtc on a raspberry pi to create a widget on my home made dashboard.
I see from Homeys documentation that rtsp is supported.
Should this not be possible to implement in your app, with the option to add username and password in the app settings? At least for local functionality?
@Torbjorn_Melbye yes should be possible and I am working on it
I’m close to a test version.
I expect somewhere in the comin 2 weeks
Perfect. Thank you ![]()
New app update (
TEST: 3.38.1):
Changelog:
NEW:
1: NEW: Local snapshot capture (more reliable snapshots) - This removes the limit of cloud snapshots (Snapshots will be made with FFMPEG which runs on your Homey)
2: NEW: video streaming for RTSP supported devices (Make sure to enable RTSP in Eufy app first)FIXES:
1: FIX: memory leak in library
2: FIX: memory issue with snapshots (this caused app crashes)
3: FIX: removed duplicate snapshot updates
4: FIX: improved error handling in snapshot captureIN PROGRESS: (Not Testable yet)
1: video streaming for Battery devices via ffmpeg (which do not support RTSP natively) (maximum 5 minutes per stream due to Eufy limitations)
If you find any issues, send a report via the mobile homey app
More - apps - Eufy Security - settings wheel right top - send diagnostic report (put your email in the input field to make it easier)
You can install the test version by clicking the link above and press install
Don’t want to be part of this test version? Install the live version → Eufy Security | Homey
@Torbjorn_Melbye see above ![]()
@Torbjorn_Melbye nice!![]()
Hi Martijn,
fantastic updates, thank you for those ! I basically can stop my local snapshot Container and replace flows with new local snapshot, which is great. Will be testing that later.
Memory footprint is yet to be analyzed, but seems to be really much lower - our Homey’s really need that ![]()
However, all snapshots on device/camera details shows :
As always, if logs needed, I will provide later, just tell me if CLI or from app directly (didn’t check yet if repo is updated)
@Sharkys yes that’s correct
I changed the self hosted snapshot card as well. It will function the same as the other snapshot card. Also depreciated the self hosted card
The placeholder image is correct. It’s instead if the eufy devices placeholder image.
But the images are now stored in the app folder instead of a buffer in memory. So that helps with the memory as well
But it should update the image later on after event or snapshot
You can always send a report of course!
Hm, sent you debug Martijn, I didn’t realize that only mobile app is live stream enabled. Snapshot seems to be working sporadically for my S380 base with S330 cams.
As for mem, it’ still peaking - here you can see the data (please note I have lifted the Homey mem limit 120MB…)
@Sharkys yes memory is still high because homey has to parse the stream
Can you restart the app and send me a report after a snapshot? I don’t see any issues
@Sharkys I saw your report, but did you take a snapshot as well after restarting the app?
Hi Martijn
I sent you 2 diags that might help you. When i was live streaming one of my cameras the app crashed somewhere between 15-30 seconds into it working realy well. After it had recovered the app it crashed directly when i went into the same camera device.
Hi @Teddy
Yep I see why
Will check soon to fix that
For now you should install the live version as this test version won’t work for you
Somehow you motions sensor checks if streaming available, which of course crashes
Yea ill revert to the Live version untill you got a new test version. Thx in the meanwhile realy awesome work on the app. BTW i have noticed that my doorbell stopped completly on the Test version and i gues it is sins it seams that Eufy do not support RTSP for some reason atm on it. Sins i run it over hardwire power. Or you might have some prereq that have to be needed for the snapshot to work there on events?
