[APP][Pro] Eufy Security

@Nitramevo

Arm mode: yes that’s the homebase that changes. Changes from eufy to homey will be integrated together with the keypad. Because that’s related.

On/off That’s weird, can you turn on debug? And send me your ACTOR_ID

Picture: make sure alle notification settings are correct. This can be different per arm mode. Eufy needs to send notifications only then Homey can pick it up.

Yes.
Sent you a DM with the data:
ACTOR-ID=Athom cloud-ID, right?
And enabled debugging in your Eufy app settings, right?
Also sent you a screenshot of the resultat in Eufy (doorbell off) after my test flow, where I turn off a camera.

@Bas_R Did you manage to test the motion sensor? :smiley:

Are you going to integrate the Keypad? That would be great!

What will be the possibility’s for the keypad? Will I be able to get triggers from the keypad to Homey?

@2Be Yeah, Eufy gives events when you trigger the guard mode. So if you press armed on the kepyad, Homey can pick that up. That’s what I want to try out first.

Now look what you did. You made me buy two keypads…

Just bought the Eufy doorbell, but what does on/off do exactly? It seems odd to me you can turn the doorbell off, and I see nothing similar in the Eufy app?

Also, I see you can select a default answer text, but when I do I don’t hear anything at the front door. Am I missing something?

Anyhow, thanks for the great app, it does pretty much everything I’d like it to do.

Hi @Edwin_D
On/off does exactly what it says. It turns the doorbell on or off. The Eufy app does have this option. When you select the settings wheel next to the doorbell you see an option Camera on

Which doorbell do you have? Because the default answer text is only for the Battery doorbell.

You can however force the doorbell to be always-on. When you go to the device settings in Homey :slight_smile:

@2Be :joy: Sorry

Ah, ok. The camera, not the doorbell. Makes more sense. It is a bit too front and center for me, easy to click by mistake so I guess I’ll consider always on indeed.

I own the battery model. Which is also confusing, as it is now wired and running on mains. At first I thought the battery model didn’t allow wired use.

From the Eufy app the texts work, but I guess I miss something in the Homey UI, or should it fire as soon as I pick e.g. one of the built in texts?

@Edwin_D

Yeah, always-on is in that case the best option.

Same here, I only thought it would connect to my existing chime and that’s it, but it actually gets some power from the bel-trafo.

You can try that. In the UI you can see the Set guard mode page. On the top there’s a small dropdown and it will show you the quick-responses. :slight_smile:

Yes, that’s what I am trying, but when I pick one nothing happens. But there’s more weird things going on. (I haven’t checked the always on option yet).

In the Eufy app the camera is on, and in Homey the tile is bright white (the color for the “on” state). When I long press the tile to step in, the on/off button is off (as if the camera is off).

The flow is triggered when a person is detected, also when I ring the doorbell. When I go to the answers page and select e.g. “Standaard bericht 3” nothing happens.

The doorbell has never detected motion, only persons (maybe because detection mode is set to respond tot people only)? and never detected background motion (I do not think the camera has that feature?).

I now see that I get time outs trying to change the on/off button, so probably the same is happening to the texts. I do get the thumbnails and flow triggers though. I’m on 1.11.11 of the app, Homey V5.0.2.

EDIT: I solved the timeout by fixing the IP address (literally). But the texts stlll do nothing.
EDIT2: sending a message from a flow works fine, it form the UI that it doesn’t. Thee is no send button, picking an option doesn’t work. Tapping it again neither. Also, the last picked option remains selected, so what if you want to send the same text again the next time? I tries with both an iPad and an Android phnoe.

@Edwin_D , yeah sending it twice from the UI doesn’t really work. The ui doesn’t always register the selection. There’s not much I can do about that. I think it’s better to use it in a flow.

For the detection. It uses the settings from the eufy app. So if you have it setup for persons only it wont register the other events in the Eufy-Homey app.

About the background active. It does have the feature, but it’s rarely triggered.

Hey @martijnpoppen ,
Thanks for your app, using it daily. With the last version though, I need to restart the app every two-three hours, otherwise it won’t switch alarm modes. Do you know what’s going on? Thanks!

Hey @Yeebo ,

Are you on version 1.11.11?
Can you share an diagnostic report with me if that happens? Then i can see what’s going wrong.

Edit: can you also share your flow?

New app update (test: 1.12.12 ):

  • FIX: Issues with device not turning on/off

@yeebo
Got your diagnostic report. Looks like your IP address is not correct.
Looks like an public IP.
Change that for both stations in the app settings of the Homey-Eufy app.

If you don’t know the IP. You can find that in the Eufy app. At about device.
Use those ip’s in the Homey-Eufy app.

Hey @martijnpoppen
Thanks for the lightning fast answer!
I have not set up any public IPs in the app, see:

(blanked the station ID etc for security reasons).

Not sure where the public IP you are referring to is coming from then?

@Yeebo For me it looked like the 10.x.x.x.was a public IP as I see timeouts on those addresses. Can you verify those IP adresses are still valid? If the Eufy camera has not an fixed IP it doesn’t work

Hi @martijnpoppen ,
They are part of the RFC 1918 (RFC 1918 - Wikipedia) and completely valid to use internally :slight_smile: I can ping all devices from the VLAN Homey is in and the IPs are set statically via a DHCP reservation.
