[APP][Pro] ELKO Smart (deprecated)

How can I fix this issue?
Happened after the latest update, Homey version 7.2.0

Missing Capability listener: button.reset_operating_mode

I have the same issue with missing devices after power loss or Homey restart. Restarting the app usually solves it. Maybe if the app startup is delayed, all devices are fully restarted before the app tries to initialize them?

Hi again, thanks for a great app.

I’ve discovered an issue with the smart plug power monitor. When disconnected, homey reports the same power consumption forward, it does not drop to zero as it would when unplugged.

Hi
I have an Elko super TR thermostat with the latest software (v 1.2.6r) connected to Homey pro and everything responds well with the exception of measuring power. It shows the wrong value and updates randomly and not when the thermostat switches on / off. I have defined power on heating cables (1000W) and other parameters in advanced setting, tried to restart and reset Zigbee in Homey without success. I only have 1 thermostat connected and it is only a few meters from Homey pro so should have very good coverage. App bugs or is there another explanation for the problem?

Hi! The thermostat reports the average watt usage the last 10 minuttes. It report every 10 minuttes.

So calculation is:
1000W
If thermostat is on for 7 minuttes it will report 700W as that is the average consuption the last 10 minuttes.

Thank you, it explains values  Real-time consumption will then be wrong. Can you add this as a user choice or is it Elko who has defined this? Why is it set up like this?

In the app it says “heating” when the thermostat is “off”, bug? See attached photos.

Hi Jonny - In my experience, the heating status isn’t particularly reliable and I often see the same as you - I belive (but don’t know) that this is because this status is not updated as often as the temperature. Same goes for the history tab for the device. Temperature and whether or not it’s heating up or cooling down in the “dial view” seems to be pretty real time though.

Hi!

I have tested now and get Heating: No when I turn off both of my thermostats.

As you probably know Elko has not followed the zigbee standard for this device. And there is many reasons for that. There is many glitches vs zigbee standard that I have tried to patch up. One of them is that there is no way to set up attribute reporting on the relay state (Heating). It will not respond. So I have to pull the value every 60 sec. So there can be up to 60 sec delay

Hi, thanks again for developing and maintaining this app. Awesome. I think something is broken after the 7.2.1 Homey update. I am no longer able to see/use the regulators in new flows - they do however work in existing flows. The dimmers are visible, and seem to work as before.
Any suggestions?

Fixed in latest release - now in test

Hi! GREAT WORK with this app. All our SmartDim Vri Universal added perfectly!

Any news regarding support for SmartPIR with dimmer?

Or any pointers on current best workarounds? Like, is it possible to control like a standard dimmer?

Suspect there is a bug in thermostats energy meter (total)! I get very high readings on all my thermostats, higher than my actual daily consumption on each of them.
Anyone else noticed this?
The effect meter works great after last update!

Hi!

Yes, I can see that there is a bug with meter data. I will fix in next update next year after holidays!

Appreciate your effort!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Hello! Since the last couple of days, Homey looses connection to and can’t control any of my ELKO devices. Restarting the Elko app doesn’t help. Restarting Homey seems to regain read status ability for a couple of hours before losing connection, but can’t write anything to the devices.

Is it just me or did something change about 2-3 days ago?

A random number of restarting the Elko app and the Homey hub itself seems to have solved the issue, at least temporarily. Again able to read status and control thermostats and dimmer pucks. Fingers crossed it was just some random hick up :crossed_fingers:

No such luck… Somewhere between 00:45 and 01:00 tonight, Homey lost connection to all Elko thermostats. Restarting the Elko app doesn’t help. Strange thing is that it’s not only affecting some devices, but absolutely all of the Elko thermostats. Anybody has a clue what’s going on? I’m running zigbee on channel 11.

I’m afraid I’m still unable to create new flows with Elko regulators after the update, they simply won’t show. Old flows still work. Another quirk has appeared: The effect parameter reads as 0 or [null]. Power consumption/effect is unavailable, both in flows, and in Homeys energy section (floor heating is no longer adding to energy use).

Hi!

I have a Smart Dimmer from Elko (this one) that I’m trying to make work with Homey.

Everything is fine, except that both top buttons, when pressed, correspond to the flow card named “Button 1” and the bottom two buttons both correspond with “Button 2”. The cards named “Button 3” and “Button 4” do nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you!
