Hello again @DinoRayn,
the issue you found is resolved in the upcoming v2.0.1. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Hello,
Thanks for your correction. Indeed my problem is solved. Can you tell me what the problem was? Thank you so much !
It was a context problem with the reference to the homey object, which was introduced with the migration to Homey App SDKv3. I missed to pass on the reference to the query functions for those buttons.
That kind of slipped my attention ![]()
Hello,
i have the following Problem: If i fire a Trigger from my streamdreck, a few devices turning on an off if i fire a triggerā¦
Can u tell me whats wrong here?

Hi @schmucke,
I checked your logs but could not find anything suspicious in there.
The trigger will only fire for the name you give to it.
Maybe you can elaborate a bit more in detail what you observe and maybe share your flows?
when i fire this trigger, any wired things are happening. Many of my devices are switch on and off instand⦠i dont know why
edit. if i start the Flow per hand it works all fine.
That sounds really strange. The app would not do such a thing to begin with.
According to the logs only one flow was triggererd for those trigger names.
Tha app does not even know about other devices if their ID is not sent by the StreamDeck. Pretty sure that effect is caused by something else on your Homey. Maybe you have flows reacting on the state change you do in your flow above?
No, if i start the flows per hand, all works fine. only if i start the trigger at the streamdeck is do not work.
Idk why. i will check the flows.
Yeah, pretty weird. Never heard of anything simliar, nor have I seen the issue, yet. And I really got a loooot trigger buttons on my deck
Maybe something is off with your Homey in general. Might be worth trying a Homey reboot as well if you cannot find any other explanation for this behaviour.
Just got my Stream Deck XL and tried to set up my first on/off toggle, for an IKEA outlet.
Setup in the Stream Deck App seems fine, but the button on the Stream Deck XL device keeps flashing an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle. Pressing the button does not change the outletās state.
(I can successfully ping my homey from my Mac)
How to investigate/fix this?
This indicates a communication error. I will contact you in private for further diagnostics.
Via DM @Shakesbeard gave me several tips on how to debug plug-ins (I did not know yet because I had the Stream Deck less than 24 hours). That was quite helpful, as I thus found out that this plug-in has several checks/requirements for the Homey hostname:
- it should start with
homey- - it should have at least 30 characters
However, my local Homey hostname is just homeyā¦
After disabling those checks the exclamation mark is gone and the button works.
Hope support for my hostname can be addedā¦
Thanks for sharing this info. I will take it into account when I update the plugin next time.
As a workaround I added an āadditionalā hostname (that starts with homey- and has more than 30 characters) in /etc/hosts (on my Mac) that redirects to the fixed/static IP of my Homey.
first of all: great app! I have the ESD on my desk and use it during my day for everything i can automate. And in combination with my Homey this is goldenā¦
The only thing thatās missing is real time information.
When i connect through the atom link it works but when i try to use the local network name it fails.
I can do a ping from my Mac to Homey via a local IP
I have added the domain name to my local DNS (PiHole) and now being able to resolve the local hostname from my Homey on my Mac via a nslookup
Iām not able to do a ping to my local hostname (cannot resolve Homey-xxx)
It seems this is an Mac related issue after reading other comments
Iām willing to do more testing to try to solve this issue
Is it an idea to address this issue in the Q&A section?
Yeah, it does seem to happen mostly for MAC users. The last two posts her from prosumer are a usable workaround. That should actually do the trick. Also check any possible firewall settings on your MAC if it still does not work. And remember, for local connect do no prefix the hostname with anything. So no http or https or so in front. Just the hostname for the SD plugin settings.
Also, yes, prolly a good idea to add that to the Q&A ![]()
Awesome plugin, works like a charm!
Thanks again.
The workaround with the hostfile is a confirmed working solution.
Best to put that in the Q&A I think, besides the use of the full DNS name for a not local connection
Itās a Mac issue anyway with name resolution.
When I have the time in the future and think about it I will try to look in to it more.
Have a nice new years eve for now and keep up the good work!!!
Added something yesterday under the connection issues topic.
Glad you enjoy the plugin. Please share if you find out anything useful about this dns resolution problem with MAC.
Likewise! And stay safe!
Hello and thank you for this app.
The Device, and therefore, button does not populate so I am unable to control, e.g., my blinds.
Also, is there a way to populate āTitleā in the Stream Deck and still have temperature info (Display data)? With a lot of sensors it is easy to lose track.
Hi there,
does the device list get populated for other button types? Is the issue only for āPress a Deviceās Buttonā?
Did you try to restart the StreamDeck Integration app on your Homey from within the Apps menu?
If not, can you try that and give feedback whether this changes the situation.
If it still does not work, please reproduce the problem once more in the StreamDeck app and directly afterwards create an app diagnostics report please. For that go menu āMoreā¦ā ā Apps ā StreamDeck Integration ā ālittle gear iconā ā Generate Diagnostics Report button. Please include your forum name in the message field there.
The title field overrides any custom text if it is set. So that is not possible.
I might or might not add a text custom formatting feature in future. But this is low priority at the moment.
