German version: [APP][Pro] Tagesrhythmus – lernt deine Routinen und startet Flows im Voraus
Most automations react: the door opens, then the heating starts. Daily Rhythm lets Homey act before things happen. The app learns at what time recurring events usually happen in your home, separately for each day of the week, and fires your Flows a chosen number of minutes before (or after) the expected time. Everything runs locally on Homey, without a cloud, an account or devices of its own.
How it works
- You tell the app when something happens, with a Flow action. For example: door unlocked → “Report state of Arrival: on”, door locked from outside → “Report state of Arrival: off”.
- The app stores these times and builds a forecast per weekday from the last weeks of the same weekday. Monday is compared with earlier Mondays, Saturday with earlier Saturdays.
- For each weekday it shows the expected time, the typical deviation (e.g. ±12 min) and a confidence in %. Confidence is high when the event happened on most of those days at a similar time.
- Your Flows use the trigger “Arrival: 60 minutes before the expected time”. If you usually come home at 17:20 on Mondays, it fires around 16:20, early enough for underfloor heating.
Example: you came home at 17:10, 17:25 and 17:20 on the last three Mondays and were away one Monday. The app then expects you at about 17:20, ±8 min, with 75 % confidence. If the confidence is below the minimum you set for the event (default 50 %), the trigger stays silent.
Until there are enough days of the same weekday, the app gives a provisional forecast from all workdays or all weekend days. You will see it marked as “provisional”.
Two kinds of events
- State events (on/off), e.g. arrival/away. The app learns when you usually leave and come back. A long absence is detected as vacation and not counted.
- Moments, e.g. waking up or going to bed. You set a time window (e.g. 19:00–04:00 for bedtime) and whether the first or the last report of the day counts.
- Templates for arrival, waking up and going to bed, or your own events (e.g. “Kids home from school”, “Washing machine started”).
Flow cards
- Triggers: X minutes before/after the expected time (only if it has not happened yet, or always), detected, new forecast.
- Conditions: has happened today, is expected within X minutes, confidence is at least X %, forecasts are paused.
- Actions: report the event, treat today like a certain weekday (holidays), suspend today, pause for X days, end pause.
- Tags with the next expected time, its weekday and the confidence, for notifications or other apps.
Examples
- Heating: “Arrival: 90 minutes before” → comfort temperature. “Arrival: 45 minutes after, only if not yet happened” → back to eco.
- Bathroom: “Wake up: 30 minutes before” → towel radiator on. “Wake up: 60 minutes after, always” → off.
- Evening: “Bedtime: 20 minutes before” → dim the lights in the living room.
- Holidays: calendar event “holiday” → “Treat today like Sunday”.
More features
- Days with a forecast per event, e.g. arrival only Monday–Friday. On other days there is no forecast and no trigger, but reports are still learned.
- Dashboard widgets: routines today, one event with its week, and a small tile.
- Settings page with week overview, history of the last weeks and the option to ignore untypical days (e.g. a day off) so they do not spoil the forecast. Light and dark mode.
- Languages: English, German, Dutch.
Setup
- Install the app, open its settings and add an event from a template.
- Create the Flows that report it.
- Use the first Flows with the new trigger after one or two weeks. The forecast gets more reliable over time.
Good to know
- The app only knows what your Flows report. Reliable reports, e.g. from a door lock or a presence sensor, give reliable forecasts.
- By default a forecast needs at least 3 of the last 4 same weekdays. You can change this per event under “Advanced”.
- The day starts at 04:00 for the statistics, so going to bed at 01:00 still belongs to the evening before.
- Hobby project, not affiliated with Athom.
