BREAKING CHANGES

For v2 test users: If you were already using the test version 2 of the Growatt app, you unfortunately need to delete your existing devices, and re-add them again (sorry).

For v1 users: You will be able to continue your existing devices for now. But they will not be supported anymore in a future version of the Growatt app. To start using the new Homey devices, delete you must create and copy an API key.

There are two ways to get the API key:

On your mobile phone: Open the Growatt ShinePhone app. Go to ‘My Account’ (right bottom), and click on your user name. Click on ‘API Token’. Make sure ‘Use Status’ is on. Copy and save the API Token. You need it when pairing a Growatt device in Homey.

On a PC/Laptop: Visit https://openapi.growatt.com/login . Click on your username (top right). Under account management you will find the API Token. Make sure it is enabled. Copy and save the API Token. You need it when pairing a Growatt device in Homey.

During device pair in Homey. some users might get a message that there is an issue with their Growatt account. If you get that message please contact Growatt (service.nl@growatt.com) to ask a manual fix of that issue.

Hi,

I uninstalled the Growatt app version 2.0 and reinstalled version 2.2.0.

I was able to add the Noah 2000 battery storage system again using my username and API key. Unfortunately, no data is being displayed.

A diagnostic report has been generated.

Thanks for your help

Not seeing data is maybe temporary. Pls create an app diagnostics report if it is still not providing data in a few hours.

The power curtailment slider was removed from inverters and batteries because it was confusing people. The value (0-100%) is now displayed in the inverter as Power Limit. To control it you need to use a flow card.

Makes sense… Thanks for explaining.
I will look into the data becoming available when my inverter is active (sunlight)

Hi Ruud,

By using the API, there’s no need for sunlight to view your data. Just like the Shinephone phone app shows your data during nighttime.

When you don’t see any data, Robin explained about that just above your post.

Hi Robin,

the battery is empty and there’s no sun.

The app is showing me these values now too.

So it’s not looking too bad. Let’s see tomorrow when it gets light.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Thomas

Fyi.
I updated the app to 2.2.1 around 5.45pm (Netherlands). Adding the device with the API code worked without problems. Still no data visible after more than 2 hours (power, energy, energy today, AC limitation)

Test version 2.2.2 is available: Growatt | Homey

  • Fixed inconsistent api inv deviceSn naming.

This should fix your issue @Ruuduitdegraaf . Please test and let me know.

The Growatt is very (very!) inconsistent, and the documentation is incorrect in multiple cases. So that is why I need the community feedback to find these inconsistencies for the various devices and firmwares out there.

But I feel we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel :folded_hands:

@RM_de_Gruijter thank you for looking into my case and this update (test 2.2.2). I see that the app automatically updated to this version. First data is visible. Nice.

Edit: @9.19hr I get a message : “apparaat onbereikbaar fetch failed “ soon after that it behaves normal

I keep an eye on the data coming days and let you know.

Hi Robin

my Noahs are now receiving data.

But I’m wondering how often the data is being retrieved. It seems rather irregular.

Thx

Thomas

Api update rate is 5 minutes.

The sun has set and the inverter is on standby mode. Solar generation is at 0W as seen from the ShinePhone app.

But Homey Growatt app is still using probably the last value received from the API

Both images taken with seconds of each other.

Great work, Robin!

The Shinephone app shows no generated power yet (these panels are facing west), but the app shows it fetches the data :tada:

I wonder, AC limit should be at 0% or at 100% when it should not limit anything?
My 2019 S-2000 probably lacks that option anyway.
