I am not pointing fingers at anyone. It is just a bit dispointing.
Robin still has access to the Growatt server that i gave him.
I will be patient for 2 weeks coming no problem.
But without this app I can’t do much using the Pro version.

My problem seems a bit different:
I hope this helps with the troubleshooting
Strangely, sometimes the error disappears by itself (sadly only for a short while)
I tried again just now and i am logged in ![]()
Just tested on the local wifi at home. Not sure if this makes a difference
Hmmm too early. Checked again and now i have the issue as Eric mentioned timeout of 50000 ms ?
no worries, many options with growatt , you can always try the modbus app as a backup for your inverter [APP][Pro] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus - #1548 by MarcoRuiter
those modbus add ons are not so expensive (under 40 euro) and a nice weekend project plus you can control your inverter for negative prices. or with meters installed you can even control it even more.
After functioning for a while (I export the data at the end of the day to GoogleSheets), it has now stopped working entirely. I reinstalled the app, but now I am unable to add the inverter. A timeout error occurs when attempting to log in, displaying the message: “SendMessageToApp(com.growatt) Timeout after 15000ms.”
Awesome app so far! ![]()
Although it is clear that this app currently is cloud-first and local connections won’t work, the question I have would be; is it on the roadmap for the unforeseeable future? And if so, would contributions to achieve it be appreciated? For instance by implementing an option comparable to how the Grott App for Homey | Homey app consumes data?
Rationale; am designing a off-grid solution and am considering the Growatt NEO 800M-X micro-inverters as a part of that design.
@Administrator: Is it still functioning on your end? After reinstalling the app, I was unable to add the PV panels anymore. I am curious if I am the only one experiencing this issue. Mobile app or web app doesn’t make any difference for me.
Before you start spending time on it: You are aware of the existence of this app?
Btw I use Grott combined with Home Assistant, but it needs a separate machine to run the python script on.
Or, maybe you have plans to run a similar script @ Homey?
Yes found that app as well, thanks. The thing is that I’m considiring the Growatt micro inverters and these are wifi only, hence seemingly not compatible with modbus.
Hmmm but wifi is not always a restriction to modbus (anymore):
I"ve a wifi connected SMA inverter connected with Homey 2019 (wifi only) and it communicates with modbus per SMA app.
It’s not connecting? Still timeout …
I give up for the moment returning back to home wizard.
Just to rule out what might seem obvious:
Because, when I try to login to the Growatt community app it says: “credentials not valid”
With the Growatt app by Robin I’ve no issues whatsoever:
I just removed all of it, installed the app again and added my inverter in no time. Credentials are fine.
Hi I have apps running without issues.
The version installed is v1.2.3
OK. Thanks!
2 remarks though:
What I’m interesting in, is if any other Homey app can reach “the cloud” in general, to see if (a) network setting(s) interfere(s).
I followed your instructions first.
Removed the app again and reinstalled.
I worked for a few minutes and after that again the samr time out?
Yes other apps works fine. I have also installed the Somfy app and all is working fine ?
Since more users teported the same issue, i doubt that this will be network related issues?
