In the general settings, I need to set up my email ID where I keep on getting an error message. SMTP port 25 or 587 no difference. I think this might have to do with the 2-way security setup, but I have no clue how to solve this while keeping the 2-way security setup

As mentioned on that settings page you need to setup an app password when using Gmail.

Entering my Doorbird user id’s (not admin) as in my Doorbird app. I get the error message: not authorized user.

Follow the pairing instructions. You need to use a user that has the API-operator permission enabled.
