CGM Reader App for Homey | Homey
My Homey T1D App for Dexcom devices that reads CGM values from Dexcom API has been released to the Homey app store.
Use it to control your lights, notifications, speakers etc. maybe give your family insights on your glucose levels.
It is built on code inspiration from GitHub - gagebenne/pydexcom: A simple Python API to interact with Dexcom Share service and would not be possible without “pydexcom”. Huge thanks to gagebenne!
Instructions:
Install the APP on your Homey.
Make sure you have activated Dexcom share and added at least one follower.
Add a new device and chose G7 or G6 sensor. They use identical connection to Dexcom API only name and icon that differ them. Also i guess you could even try the older versions lik G5 (have not tried this tho).
Use your Dexcom credentials to sign in not the followers. EU servers are set as default. If you are outside if EU navigate to the settings under your device and select your region. US or Other.
The system fetches data every 5 min, same as the official Dexcom app.
If the API has been disconnected for more than 30 min, the system will automatically try to reconnect to Dexcom API service.
Use the flows to get notification if this happens. Could be good to know
