Test version published. You can now go to device settings and select auto retry. This will keep retrying even when the device is unavailable, and when the api responds again it will heal the device automatically.
Ok makes sense. So actually the BMW badge only shows if my car is charging or not, right? I guess it has no impact on the Energy Tab, as the system does not know if the charging is done at home or not.
Is this something that could be improved with geofence? If my car is in the geofence of my home, the system should deduct that the charging is done at home.
I have same issue, re-connect, all seems ok then disconncted by following morning - is there a permant fix to this as seems a few users having same issue?
Did you try the test version of the app. If you install that in the device settings you can set it to auto retry that should heal the device in homey as soon as the api starts responding again.
Thanks!! Installed v0.7.8 now and enabled the setting, let’s hope the issue is fixed. Disabled my workaround, restarting the app every 2 hours.

This is something that is how homey works. I just removed my charger and indeed the garage is closed and no longer shows any car. It makes sense as it shows energy distribution of consumption. Even if we can somehow show the car is charging at home as we do not know consumption and the view actually shows energy flowing it does not make any sense. The car in the garage is not the subject in this view but the charger is. The car is just an additional graphics for the charger. Which means even if you do not have a device type car or if it is someone else car charging in your charger the graphics will be displayed.
On another note, i havent heard any updates on the issue of device unavailability. Any updates anyone with the test version? @eovermeer/@Darrell_Etherington ? Another question can people who were having there device marked offline frequently let me know if the device was bmw or mini?
I didn’t want to respond directly for a conclusion but I saw the ‘Device Unavailable’ only once on my iPhone. I took no action and later saw that everything was fine, so it looks like auto-retry is working!
For me it was BMW
Turning on and off did not work, but as a few has reported, using the test version of the app now does work. Thank you, much appreciated!
I can confirm that auto-retry is working.
I activated the auto-retry option yesterday, and so far my MINI SE has been connected every time I’ve checked. So it seems to be working.
Somethins has changed in the app. I dont have the option to get the battery level anymore?!
Talking to myself: This came back after a restart of the app!
For me it is BMW G80, pretty much seems to drop offline every night at some stage
Cheers
I missed the message about test version, apologies, just installed and will test. I did notice that unlock now works for me but says timeout 10000ms in the red banner just as cars indicators show unlock received.
what is the link to the testversion?
Just add /test to the app store URL,
or
hit “view changelog” @ app store page, and then hit the orange “Test” icon:
or
read topic post number one ![]()
Hello! I have tried to add my bmw to homekit through homey, but its under the category unsupported. Do you guys have any idea on how I can fix this? I want the lock status on my bmw in homekit. May the problem be because its a test version? Is it possible to use the normal version?
I cannot configure the app or the device;
I am running latest version of Homey and latest test-version of BMW-app.
What to do?
EDIT: I was able to do it with the app on the phone.

Geofencing labels disappearing
I have added 4 labels, but they seem to disappear 1 or 2 days after they were added. In the app interface the screen looks like this:
I am running the 0.7.8 test version, not sure if this issue is related to the version I am running, but I would appreciate any hints if this may be the issue.
