[APP][Pro and Cloud] Daikin ONECTA

Hi,

Thanks for your hard work on the app.
I have a question, would it be possible to add cards to increase and decrease the water temperature for the Altherma III - HotWaterTank?
This would be useful when you don’t want to use the power mode to heat the water.

Thanks.

Work in progress…

The upcoming release will have 1 uniform driver for all AC (airconditioning) models and also include some enhancements like new flow triggers and energy reading

After this release the same is going to happen for the altherma heatpumps and the hotwatertank where the hotwatertank can be temperature controlled.

Daikin units are staying unresponsive and turning on/off without notice or command. Even in the middle of the night, the unit turns on (by Daikin Onecta, as stated in the Homey app) so very unexpected behaviour.

Today they became completely unresponsive. Tried restarting the app, now receive an error (see attachment).

Hope the new update fixes some of these issues as well, because after the Daikin Cloud update it does not feel stable.

Complain much as you want but the new update doens’t fix these issue’s as these are mostly in the daikin platform.

A. Daikin cloud platform is unresponsive last week. Check : https://daikincloudsolutions.statuspage.io/

B. If you send to much request (+/- 150 day) then you hit the ratelimiter like in your screenshot. This is caused by youself or your flows.
The new update reduces some API calls but now much and mainly on flows.

Statement from daikin :

You should be mindful of the impact of sending rapid commands to heat pumps, especially those involving the start or stop of the compressor (e.g.`onOffMode`). To maintain reliability and durability, it's advisable to avoid initiating compressor start and stop operations more frequently than once every 10 minutes.

It's essential to consider that the startup behaviour of the compressor consumes more energy than during steady-state operation.

Be aware that the focus of the Daikin Onecta Cloud API is mainly on home comfort control. The API is not suitable for reactive control algorithms, like PV solar optimisation, due to the rate limitation. For reactive applications, the Daikin HomeHub provides you with a local interface.

@Mickel_Luiten since the Onecta update my Perfera is responsive again. I run the beta Onecta app and did send several reports through Test Flight. After that a support employee reached out to me and I did send him several diagnostic reports (you can produce them in the Onecta app). They confirmed there was a bug and that seems to be solved.

Also many thanks for all your work on this app

(One question. In the Daikin app is now energy consumption. Is this possible in your app?

I understand your frustration, but it is not completely reasonable.

  • The units a performing unexpected actions for a longer period of time now, not only since last week.
  • The units are migrated to a new Daikin account since the last API update, and are not performing more than 150 requests. I never had this rate limiter before.

It seems that there are other issues going on with the Homey app.

I’m not frustrated , looks to me you are beacuse of you messages?

There is nothing wrong with the homey app… the app is +/- 6000 times installed and you are at this moment the only one complaining.

The homey app does not send random commands toward the daikin platform!! Only with flows or manual action on the mobile app or webapp there will be a api call!! And the max is 200 per day , where the 1/2 hour polling (48 times) is taking in account ( 150 call left)
The homey app gets this info from the Daikin Cloud PLatform so somewhere you hit the limit…

can’t you send the energy usage to homey once a day or something?

Work in progress, wait forl the next release
