What it does

HeishaMon is a small board that plugs into the CN-CNT connector of your Aquarea indoor unit and publishes everything the heat pump knows over MQTT — 140+ values, and 48 writable settings. This app turns that into two Homey devices.

Heat pump On/off, operating mode, zone setpoint, room/inlet/outlet/outside temperatures, Eco and Boost as single-tap toggles (they can’t both be on — the pump can’t do both either), defrost state, 3-way valve position, error code, compressor frequency, pump flow.

Hot water Its own thermostat device with tank temperature, setpoint, forced cycle and sterilization. Only offered if your pump reports a tank.

Energy & COP kWh in and out, lifetime and per day. Live COP, plus an energy-weighted COP for today and yesterday. The live figure swings between 0 and 15 within one compressor cycle; the daily one is what actually tells you how the system did. Electricity shows up in Homey Energy.

Fractional setpoints (optional) The Aquarea only takes whole degrees, and every degree of flow temperature is worth about 2-2.5% efficiency. Turn this on and the slider moves in 0.1 °C steps; the app alternates between the two neighbouring whole degrees on a duty cycle so the average lands where you asked. About two writes an hour.

Adaptive weather compensation (optional) A slow control loop that nudges the heating-curve offset to hold your room temperature at the lowest water temperature that still works. Feed it any Homey temperature sensor with one Flow. Over a few weeks it also learns whether the slope of your curve is wrong and gives you a recommendation — applying it is your call.

Configuration Heating curves for both zones, deltas, cut-off temperatures — read live from the pump, writable behind a safety switch.

What you need

  1. A HeishaMon gateway on CN-CNT — GitHub - heishamon/HeishaMon: Panasonic Aquarea air-water H, J, K, L and M series MQTT gateway · GitHub
  2. An MQTT broker on your LAN. The MQTT Broker app from the App Store works; so does Mosquitto on a NAS/Pi.
  3. HeishaMon pointed at that broker (its web UI → Settings).

You do not need the MQTT Client app; the client is built in. The pairing wizard finds your HeishaMon on the broker automatically.

Supported series: H, J, K, L, M — whatever HeishaMon supports.

Getting started tips

  • Leave fractional setpoints and adaptive tuning off for the first couple of weeks. Confirm data comes in reliably first.
  • When you enable adaptive tuning, start with “Maximum correction” at 1-2 K, not 3, and watch it for a week.
  • Adaptive tuning needs the pump in compensation-curve mode. In direct mode it refuses to run and tells you why.
  • HeishaMon’s power figures are the heat pump’s own estimates, not a calibrated meter. Treat COP as a trend, not a certified number.

Weather compensation is fully implemented.

Feed it a room temperature from any Homey sensor with a Flow, or use the heat pump’s own reading.
Every half hour it compares that against your target and nudges the curve offset, at most 0.3 K per step and capped at ±3 K.
Deliberately slow: a wet heating system takes half an hour to respond, and a faster controller just oscillates. Your installer’s curve is never touched, only its offset.
The app can adjust the offset on your heating curve by itself.
The goal isn’t the highest COP but the lowest water temperature that still holds your room temperature, optimising for COP alone gives you an efficient heat pump and a cold house.

Tuning pauses during hot water, defrost, boost, cooling and when the pump is off, and it refuses to run in direct (fixed water temperature) mode.

A second, much slower loop records which offset is needed at each outdoor temperature. If you consistently need more when it’s cold, your curve is too flat — a shape problem that shifting can’t fix. The app reports that as a recommendation; applying it is your call via a Flow card.

Off by default. Start with the maximum correction at 1–2 K and watch it for a week.
