[APP] Enphase - Harness the sun to make, use, save, and sell your own power

@Amersfoort I couldn’t find it but did you also fit ct coils? (CT spoelen).

No, I don’t have CT coils. These are needed for real time measurements, or is it a 5 minute update frequency.

With the local command http://envoy/production.json the value wNow can be read for the production without CT coils.

First json lines:
{
“production”: [
{
“type”: “inverters”,
“activeCount”: 24,
“readingTime”: 1746209273,
“wNow”: 436,
“whLifetime”: 19825078
},

My lifetime total is in the Enphase app about 8500MWh. The overal total of my Enphase system is about 16,1MWh. I use the ct colis not from the beginning but for the last 8500MWh.
So the showed total in the app is the total that is measured with the ct coils.
Coincidence?

With the latest 0.6.0 update my Enphase IQ7+ inverters show the solar power value with a 1 minute frequency. Nice!

Ok, this is going fast…

Not sure if I want to change all my flows to the Enphase app yet.

Actally, not sure how much of my flows use the ‘Zonnepanelen’ Tags…

After about 5-10 minutes of using the new version 0.6.0 and updating the power values with 1 minute frequency, there were no more updates, not even after one hour.

Restart the app and Homey 2023 did not help. Tried to access the Envoy via a web browser: Envoy no longer available, 504 gateway time-out.

Uninstalled the Homey Enphase app, restarted Envoy; after a few minutes Envoy was accessible again via a browser. Installed the Homey Enphase app and the values were updated, but only for 5-10 minutes, and Envoy not accessable. So the same behaviour.

What causes this behaviour?:

  • issues with refresh loop in Homey Enphase app or
  • to many requests for the Envoy or
  • ???

For now I unstall the Homey Enphase app, hoping for some improvements. Is this the behaviour mentioned in the 0.3.0. release notes: “Removed power measurement, because it was too unreliable.”?

Still working as expected here…

Using Enphase IQ7+ inverters? You have a Standard-EU, which differs from my Metered-EU. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to make one app for all combinations.

With a non-responsive Envoy and version 0.6.0 is looks like this (no Power value):

With a responsive Envoy and version 0.6.0 it looks like this:

Last updates, Opgewekt Totaal 1 hour ago, Opgewekt Vandaag 1 hour ago.
Vermogen 9 hour ago.

You probably got rate limited;
Did you try with a 5 minute polling interval already?

Just to compare: Growatt cloud has a minimum polling interval of 5 minutes; polling more often for too long results in the connection getting temporary closed for me.

I can’t configure the refresh frequency, so I think it’s hardcoded. Maybe it’s a good idea for the developer.

Can you still access your Envoy when there are no updates in Homey anymore?
Try the following command in your browser: https://envoy/home.json . Your Envoy should respond within a few seconds.

On the Dutch Tweakers forum you can find a lot of these commands

Yes, I have IQ7+ inverters

If I switch to this app instead of the Zonnepanelen app will I lose my historical data?

I have some trouble to reach that page overall.
The last update of Power today is now 1 day.
The Total power and Power today is still working.

The app zonnepanelen is still working as it was before.

I should think it stays in ‘Zonnepanelen’ until you delete it, or remove the device/app…

Hopefully there will be a different way. It looks now overkill to get the extra app running while not longer using (other then keep data/insights)

You can just disable the app(s).
But keep in mind the data storage ends after 3 years minus 1 day. And it gets averaged very quickly, making older insights data pretty useless when you need exact figures.
If I were you, I’d export the insights data asap.
Search app store for: insights, or export, or mysql.

When you disable the app, the insights will be visible, until they expire.
I have many apps which are used every once in a while. I always disable those. Saves lots of memory.

Thanks for the tip. Did not know this was possible

Today with the negative electricity prices in The Netherlands it would be nice to temporarily switch off the Enphase inverters by software.
That would already be possible with Home Assistant. I think it would also be desirable for Homey.
