[APP][Cloud & Pro] Somfy Tahoma & Connexoon (v4.0.99, test v4.0.106)

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced the following? I turned dev-mode on for my gateway (a Connexoon) and then installed the Somfy Tahoma & Connexoon app. The app finds the gateway right away through mDNS, including its pin and IP address, but after I enter the Somfy account credentials in the settings tab the message “getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND gateway-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.local” is issued in the information log every 10th second. (I replaced the pin with XXXXs.) The reason for this is that the gateway has not registered itself with that name but rather with the name “XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.local”, i.e. without the leading “gateway-”. I verified this by manually querying the mDNS register from my laptop and it gives an answer only for the latter host name, the one without “gateway-”. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? Is the app assuming too much about the host name, e.g. that it always starts with “gateway-”, or is my gateway doing the mDNS registration in some faulty way?

I am seeing the same problem for a while now. I’m not sure if it’s caused by the Tahoma box or Homey as both have had firmware updates recently. The problem is basically a DNS issue, so I suspect Homey. I need to investigate further to try and pin down the offending hardware.

OK, just been checking the Somfy GitHub issues and it seems like it’s a know issue.

It seems the address registered as lost the gatewat- part from the beginning. They mention resetting the Tahoma to revert it back to the address reported by mDNS, which I will try once I can get to it.

I have published a new test version that will try both version of the URL.

Wow! I sent the message just hoping to get a clue to what is going on, and now just some hours later I find that you have already published a fix. I am in awe, thank you very much! It will be tested as soon as I get back home.

Hi Adrian,

I’ve just sent you a device log ID: 753334000. There’s a device “io:CyclicStandardReceiverIOComponent” that doesn’t seem to be supported despite from a quick code observation, it’s very similar (or the same) as rts_open_close. Would it be possible to add it to the supported devices? Let me know if any further cooperation is needed from my side.

Thank you for maintaining this app, it’s without a doubt the biggest live changer in home automation to be able to automate my blinds

Hi, I have a somfy shutter powered by sunlight so it can read the lux (sunlight intensity) but I can’t seem to find a way to configure a flow that multiple shutters close when the lux has reached a defined number. Do you know how I could solve this? Thx

Hmm, I don’t remember a shutter that exposes a lux sensor so could you send me the Device Log from the app settings page.

Looks like lux only functions trough the somfy ap.

Hi Adrian,

Unfortunately it still uses the host name with the “gateway-” prefix. It took some time to get back to you because I tried to trace what happens in the source code from what is seen in the logs, but did not get much wiser, and got bogged down by other tasks. Anyway, I have now sent a log and hopefully you can understand what is happening. The log ID is: -1598576134

Can you confirm you have installed the text version?

Pretty sure I installed the test version, but I uninstalled it after sending you the log (wrong thinking, yes, but the log gets full pretty soon and the interesting part is then truncated anyway). So to be sure I have now installed it again and sent the info log from the new installation. (The log got the same same ID as last time, a bit to my surprise.) The apps page under settings in Homey says:

Somfy TaHoma & Connexoon

Hi,
Today I unpacked and installed the Connectivity Kit to be able to connect my Homey Pro 2023 and control my outdoor screens (io). I created a user account for this on the Somfy website. Howerver, there is no way to find Developer Mode to be enabled. What is I do wrong?
Best regards, Marco

Hi Adrian, I have somfy screens installed that also can read the lux ( sunlight intensity). Could you make this avaible in the app? Icould send you the log…

Yes, send the log and I’ll take a look.

Log id nr.1593678659

I can see devices identified as “io:SunEnergyActuatorSensor”, so I guess they are the sensors you are referring to?

If so you can add them to Homey via the “Sun sensor (io)” device.

Ok nice I will try it. Thx s8far Adrian.

Hi Adrian, just added Sun sensor and it works. Thx

Your reading is what’s wrong . The Connectivity Kit is cloud only (it"s way cheaper as well, you can’t expect the same functionality):
