Hello, I have put my recessed door sensor 7 in the Homey, and notice that the battery are only showing 100%. Is this a flaw, or do I need to update something?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to disable the touch sound (click sound) on my Aeotec Wallmote Quad using Homey, but I’m running into a dead end.

From what I’ve read, this should be possible by setting Z-Wave configuration parameter 81 to 0. However:

  • There are no parameters visible under Advanced Settings in the Homey app
  • In the Homey Developer Tools (developer.athom.com), I can see the device under Z-Wave but the Configuration option is not clickable
  • I don’t have a separate Z-Wave USB stick to use Aeotec’s PC Controller software

I also noticed there is an option in the device settings to disable the sound, and I have turned that off — but the touch sound is still playing.

Has anyone managed to disable the touch sound on the Wallmote Quad through Homey? Any workaround or alternative method would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Usually you need to “wake up” the device by pressing one of the buttons right before you click Save. Keep pressing the button every 1s to prevent it from sleeping until Homey reports that the settings are saved.

Welcome Martin!

As @smarthomesven already mentioned, the device must be manually woken up before saving:

Tipp: Let the device wake up for 10 minutes.

You need to look under “Tools” in the Z-Wave section below:

However, Z-Wave raw commands can also be sent via the advanced device settings:

Or via flow:

I think you need to enable “Power User” to send a raw Z-Wave command via Flow: Homey smartphone app → More → Settings → Experiments → Power User

However, sending a raw Z-Wave command to disable the beep is completely unnecessary. By the way, raw Z-Wave commands only work if the Z-Wave device is set to “Unsecured.”

It wouldn’t solve the problem, since the Wallmote Quad would have to be excluded/deleted from Homey, included on the Z-Wave USB stick, excluded/deleted again, and then included on Homey once more. Every time you include or exclude a device, any changes made to the Z-Wave device are reset to their default settings.

Thanks guys, will try it later today and report to if it works

Hi,

tried several times to update the settings after getting it into the yellow blinking mote. But it didnt help. So the setting are not changed as it still beeps.

So if somebody has a good idea I am more then open.

Regards.

How exactly did you try this several times? Please describe exactly what you did.

I did the following:

  • So at the back of the remote I pressed the button unit yellow blinking mode was activated.
  • Changed via de homey app the sound on/of → switch to off
  • then presses the button at the back again, so yellow stopped blinking

Tried this several times.

Much appreciated all your help!

I’m missing a step: saving the settings after you’ve disabled the sound.

After saving, three different hints may appear.

  1. A green hint indicating that the change has been saved successfully.
  2. A green hint indicating that the change will be sent to the device when it wakes up according to the wake-up interval.
  3. A red hint indicating that the change could not be saved or that a timeout occurred.

The change has been saved correctly only if the first hint appears after saving!!!

What hint did you see?
