Alexa stopped working as of Jun 3rd, 2025

We are not talking about the Homey apps for Amazon Alexa or Amazon Echo… We are talking about the Homey “Skill” for Alexa.

Ok this makes me feel a little better. I was afraid it was an issue on my end. I’ve probably disconnected and re-enabled my homey skill in Alexa 30 times now because when it initially stopped working about two days ago I did that and it seemed to do the trick. Next morning - back to broken so I’ve been frantically unlinking and relinking the homey skill because basically my lights won’t turn on/off if homey isn’t working with Alexa.

I guess I just have to hope a fix happens soon or else I’m moving over to something like home assistant. I just really liked using homey but it’s a paper weight for me if I’m not able to connect it to Alexa.

Having the same issue, can’t control or discover new devices, started the same timeframe. Disabling and re-enabling the skill didn’t help.

Same issue, two homes. No Alexa intergration. I also can’t log in on the desktop, and 1 in 5 times on a phone or iPad. If I’m on location, all is well. To anyone considering migration, I would advise against it. I know LG bought 80%, so maybe things will improve in the future, but I have nothing but problems, and support is non-existent. It takes 3-4 weeks to request more information—completely and totally a joke. I am an IT professional—a complete waste of money.

same here homey and alexa not comminicating.

I’m having the same problem but actually with Google Home. I think some internal service is broken that’s affecting both integrations

I was just preparing to purchase a second Homey (for a 2nd home) . . . I guess I wait!

Is there any way of knowing if / when the issue will be fixed? Is anyone even working it? I’m surprised at the level of customer support. It’s been ~2 days and no acknowledgement or anything.

Yesterday, voice commands to Alexa stopped working on homey devices (Thirdreality zigbee plugs). I tried disabling the skill and then re-enabling it and that didn’t work. So then, I deleted the 4 plugs from Alexa - and now she wont discover them.

Anyone else experiencing issues with the Alexa to Homey interface?

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Check this thread:

I’m having same issue started last week - Alexa will no longer reliably control my lights through Homey Pro. They are mostly Hue lights. Alexa says ““Group” isn’t responding” however the light connection in Alexa show homey connection and the lights and groups turn on and off using the Homey app. The Alexa app shows “Device is unresponsive” selecting the light in Alexa app shows “There was a problem” - looking at light settings it shows Connected via Homey.

I’m thinking that this is an Alexa to Homey API issue…

Make sure to report this to Athom via: Support | Homey. The more people report the same issue, the more likely it will be solved.

Since the latest update, our Google Home devices have lost all functionality. For instance, saying “Living room lights off” results in a “devices are disconnected” error, yet we can control the lights without issue through the Homie app. This suggests a problem with the Google Home integration in the update. A prompt fix would be greatly appreciated.

To re-clarify this is all devices matter zigbee and Z-Wave. We’ve also noticed that we lost some lights through matter after the update too, and we’ve had a really hard time getting our lights re-synced to the network.

More info - I’m troubleshooting right now - lol I should be sleeping 2am here - Apple HomeKit works fine, Homey Pro app works fine. The issues with Alexa seem to align with the Homey Pro update 12.4.7 that was applied to my device 7 days ago…

Athom is apparently aware:

Here is the response that I received this morning from Athom regarding this issue:

“Thank you for reaching out to our support and for reporting this issue with the Alexa integration. Our apologies for the inconvenience!”

“This issue has already been reported by other users and our Development Team is already investigating why Alexa is not functioning properly. I can’t give any guarantees on when this issue will be found and resolved, but please know we’re working on it. We hope to resolve this issue as soon as possible, of course.”

“Thanks again for your input and for reporting the issue, we appreciate it!”

“For now this is all I can do for you. Please keep a keen eye on the Homey Server Status page, so you’ll know when the issue is resolved.”

Is the issue still present?

Thanks for reaching out. I have reported it to Homey, and they have replied that they are working on it.

I have a short term work around if interested:
You will need a Google voice assistant. (Yes, currently the GVA does not work, same as Alexa)
You will need an IFTTT account
In IFTTT create an applet that is:
IF: you say hey google activate {your selected words or choice}
THEN: With the Homey IFTTT Homey integration start a flow

In Homey I created an on off virtual switch / device
In Homey create a simple flow (not an advanced flow, IFTTT will not see it)
WHEN virtual switch Turned On
THEN start a Flow (the advanced flow I need to use)
AND THEN Turn Off Virtual Switch.

It triggers the flow as it desired.

I just received word from Anthom that the issue has been fixed. Tested here in Indiana and both Alexa and Google devices are working as they should. Big Thank you to the support team for working this out.
