Hello,
I am trying my hand at advance flows on my homey pro 2023, I have this flow (pic attached) , The main flow here is the called Holiday 4 lamp… and when i use the Start Flow Card, the list shows all my Standard flows that are high lighted in white, but the one i want to use high lighted green is a advance flow and doesn’t show up. My goal is use the Start a Flow Card to run the Globes Default Colors Flow but it doesn’t show up in the drop down box, Is there something i need to do different to run the advance flow in green? This is my 3rd advance flow with my new Homeypro so i’m still learning as i go! and i can’t see why i can’t use the advance flow
if you want to standard flow / advanced flow to call another flow, the targetted flow must begin with:
When “this flow start”
then …
These are the trigger cards (When…) (partly incl. logic cards) with which an AF can be started:
And these are the action cards (Then…) with which an AF can be started:
Btw, your flow (screenshot) has no trigger card (When…) at all.
Thank you…, I was able to get it figured out!! took me a little more time to since it wasn’t all English examples but it had the info i needed. Don’t think i would have figured this out on my own!! As for the missing when i have been trying different sources to start a flow by month and dates , I tried using google calendar but deleted and i wanted too look for a app or flow that would do it with out linking my calendar. I’m still trying to get all my weather apps to show in Fahrenheit, after the beta update it shows my Home temp in F but not my apps … so that’s next on my to do list!!
Please give an exactly example.
This is for Homey native Weather only; when other weather apps still show Celcius, I’d suggest to report it using the beta link in the app.
While I think it is related to how Homey firmware + your timezone decides when to use Fahrenheit and when to use Celsius, and that it is not all of a sudden a bug of those apps?
Here is my holiday flow, im trying to change 4 lights color (globes) pending on day and month, or holidays, birthdays etc and then after that event is over change them back to there normal colors
Thanks Peter, i will report it, I’ve been emailing them off and on over the Fahrenheit issue and my zwave…
I’m also using the iCal Calendar app and it is brilliant!
So if you take care that you have added all the necessary events to the (Google?) calendar and linked the corresponding content by name in the flows, then the flows should work without any problems.
I think im trying to figure out the best way to control the durations of events, once the event is triggered i want it to last anywhere from a day to like a month for Christmas, then change the colors back to a default set when done. i had a ISY994i which was a basic version compared to homey that offered IF,Then,Else type of flows for setting up simple routines and i had to watch for ones that would slow down the system because i didn’t know if it would check it to many times in a day or create a repeating loop,
My homeseer hs4, i was using did have better control on how and when it should check doors are closed, lights are off etc. and i could use the log to avoid routines that would task the system a lot and cause traffic jams within the network… but now that homey is finally here in the US i’m happy to start learning something new
Thanks
I think the start of a calendar event to turn on the lights and show them in different colors is the wrong approach. Unless you want to leave the lights on for several days or weeks.
However, I assume now that the light should be switched on at a certain time in the evening. As an example, I have chosen the sunset. But it could also be the time or the brightness (lux).
If no event is scheduled in the calendar, the color of the lamps should be yellow, if “Christmas” is scheduled in the calendar, the color of the lamps should be red:
Does that match your purpose?
thanks again for the info, i saved the example pic… i’ll have to figure out how i want it to work exactly
