Why is away mode not supported (activate/de-activate the indoor handle)?
Away mode is not intended for everyday use as it could compromise an otherwise easy escape in case of fires or emergencies. For this reason it is not available to configure using the Homey application.
Can the lock be connected to both the gateway and the Homey app?
It is not possible to connect the lock with both the Nimly Gateway and Homey at the same time: you will indeed need to choose one. This also means that you indeed to remove it from the Nimly gateway before you can add it to Homey: the lock Zigbee module might still need to be reset before you can start adding it the Homey.
How can the flow cards be used for doorlock events and managing users.
See below for a couple of suggestions.
Will the EasyFinger V2 be supported?
The EasyFinger V2 is an older electronical door lock that is end-of-life (it was launched back in 2018). As it does not have the required smart module slot it is not possible to add Homey support. We recommend an upgrade to a modern Nimly smart lock.
The Nimly BLE module drains the batteries in 3-4 weeks. Installing the module in order to use the Nimly app is therefore in practical terms a no go.
I have approached Nimly twice with the problem and they promptly sent a new module. However the new modules were as power hungry. The app itself works fairly sell, but with the frequent battery changes, I had to remove the card.
The battery drain is caused by Nimly’s Zigbee module (SIGMI) advertising itself as a non-sleepy, mains-powered end device, which is inappropriate for a battery-powered lock.
There is currently no OTA update path, and newer Zigbee modules show the same behavior.
This appears to be either a firmware bug or a design decision in Nimly’s Zigbee implementation.
Have same issue here, changed the batteries 3 times since November and guessing is because of the connect module which is only 2m from Homey. Will try without the module and see how long will last this time.
Same issue, its kinda useless now. 20 days and battery replacement…
Tried reaching out to Nimly also but still no response. Maybe time to look for an other brand?
Got in touch with the support and they offered to send a new module with newer firmware. Took one week for me from sending the mail to receiving it. For now it’s been one week with the new module and looking promising.
