ZSE50 Siren/Chime inclusion

Has anyone had any trouble adding the Zooz ZSE50 to Homey? I tried everything I can think of but get the same error after entering the key. I entered the key correctly, and it is the one sent with the device, not my fat fingers.

Every other Zooz device had no issues with inclusion, just this one.

Restarted the Zooz app?
Restarted Homey?
PTP?
Tried to include it at a distance of about 1-2 meters from Homey?
Tried to include it unsecure? → Connecting Z-Wave devices in unsecure mode

Restarted the Zooz app several times, restarted Homey, even did a factory reset of the ZSE50. Tried from 1m to 10m. Using the developer tool, I found it does get included but only as an unknown node. I can test it and update the route path but nothing else connects to it, at least from what is shown. I don’t see any Tx errors.

Also, PTP for 10min.

It gets all the way to the end then the error pops up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Huh, I never tried adding a Z-Wave device without S2 security before, but it seems to be included just fine without it now. That’s not really a good thing.

I found out that the device FW needed updated from v1.1 to v2.1 through a Zbox hub, which I don’t have, or hubitat. So I did an update through hubitat and retried the Homey inclusion again.

It worked. The DSK key worked.

When will Homey support OTA updating? I’m sure many of my devices need it. This is the only reason I keep all the hubs around.

This is a frequently discussed topic.

According to Athom, this is already technically possible and app developers would need to implement this feature in their apps. However, some app developers told me that there is no documentation available and therefore this feature cannot be implemented.

Please describe your case to Athom in the hope that Athom will provide app developers with the relevant information.
