Unable to connect to ZWave Device - "could not boostrap security...."

Just got my Homey Pro 2023. Attached it to my network, updated the software, and then tried to connect to a ZWave device in my house (GE ZW4003)

I follow the onscreen instructions and the Homey Pro gets the “turn on” and “turn off” events, but then I get an error “Something went wrong while adding the device. Could not bootstrap security but unsecure is not allowed for this node.”

How do I get this device added to my Homey?

Thanks!

Jim

Seems to be ZWave/Homey issue, if you are on stable rc.110, you can try experimental version rc.118 but I doubt it will help. If Caseda will be reading along, maybe he would know.

It’s this app ? GE Enbrighten App for Homey | Homey - if so, you may try to reach to developer on homey-jasco@drenso.nl

Last option, Athom support (1-2 weeks response time)

I’m also having this problem. My Homey Pro is rc122. After testing several switches I found that only the switches that supported Zwave Plus connected. The standard Zwave switches gave the bootstrap error.

I’m also having this problem. My Homey Pro software version is 10.0.2 and the device that I ccanot add is PoppE700397. Is there any fix for this problem?

Me too! GE Embrighten ZWave (not plus) fails when using the GE Embrighten app, but can be added as a ZWave without the app.

ZWave Plus GE Embrighten devices work just fine through the app.

If you forget which switch is which, the newer ZWave Plus switches have a QR on the front but the original ZWave do not.
