Z-wave network unstable for 2 weeks

Hello,

I’ve had the old homey pro 2019 for 2.5 years and all of a sudden it went dead and didn’t boot at all, so I bought the new homey pro 2023 and unfortunately I didn’t do backup for the old homey so I had to restart the pairing process for all z-wave devices I have in my home to pair it with the new homey pro.
Now all devices are paired and I subscribed to the backup to be on the safe side, now after 2 weeks, the z-wave network is not stable at all, sometimes a light works fine then all of a sudden it doesn’t turn off, I go to developers and I find out that the node is not reachable! I try to heal but it tells me time out!!
Worth noting that I have 2 Aeotec z-wave extenders in house to have a better coverage but still the network is unstable.
How can I make this work! I’m starting to lose trust in honey pro and this technology and I don’t want to throw away all the investment I made in homey pro and all z-wave devices!

  1. If Homey 2019 is not shutdown it can interfere.
  2. Try to factory reset the z-devices reporting unreachable. Wait over night in order to stabilise.
  3. Repeat #2 if more unreachable devices.
  4. If still unreachable devices consider remove the device from mesh and wait over night.

All my z-wave problems have been caused by bad devices (some gone bad after years) or too few devices in mesh (no redundance in mesh).

If the steps recommended by Morgan don’t help, then I have the following tip:

  1. Devices from Aeotec are known for sending a lot of “unnecessary” data and thus overloading the Z-Wave network…

  2. I had 2 pieces of Aeotec repeaters in use and again and again failures. Since I removed it, everything works perfectly.

When I’m right you can increase the time between events

I tried to remove them but for 4 days there were some devices unreachable! So I had to put them back again

How can I do that?

Somewhere in device settings / advanced settings

I have z-wave devices from several manufactures but have had no problems with Aeotec. If the ones you have problem with uses Secure (entered pin when included) try to include the unsecure. Aeotec can be included unsecure with pin 00000.

Devices that caused problem for me are Nexa smartplug mini and Popp outdoor plug devices.
