What does Homey pro mini mean by you can only add 5 devices before you need a subscription? I am new to all this. What is considered a device?

I think you have the Homey Bridge and the Homey pro mini mixed up

Indeed. When you want to use (a) bridge(s) as satellite to a Homey Pro Mini/2023/2026, there’s no additional subscription stuff.

Subscription fees are only applicable to Homey Cloud ( = online Homey instance ) when one wants to connect more than 5 devices ( = anything you can connect and use with Homey Cloud).

You likely created a Homey Cloud instance, instead of setting up the Pro Mini. Go to the More tab and there you can select your Homey. Choose the Homey Pro Mini there.
