Widgets failing on Android

Anyone having troubles with Android widgets too?

I think problem began to occur after upgrading my phone to Android 12.
Have disabled all suspend and memory-/battery saving features as far as I know. After starting the Homey app, the widgets work again (for a short time).
At the time my Android widgets fail, widgets (shortcuts) on my iPad (iPadOS v15.1) still continue to work.

Anyone any idea how to solve this?
Or what specific setting could cause this?

Perhaps it still is a battery saving setting somewhere… In the (Dutch) thread below, that was the culprit:

Thx for the suggestion, but battery save has already been turned off… :frowning:

Ah, problem solved.
There was to be a problem with an Athom service, which also affected the operation of widgets.
Seems solved now, problems are gone here.

I experience the same issue, now with my Samsung s22 with Android 13.

Any fix in sight? or have I missed the solution for this?

Great, this was the solution for me!

Here are the same problems from my first post all back. But just every once in a while, not always. So, a little different, and for some while now, so decided to “reopen” this topic, to see if there are more isers affected of have a solution…

I am on Homey v12.0.1, app v8.4.0, Android 14, Samsung S24+ in the meantime.
All batterysaving settings are off for Homey.

So:
When I use a widget but something goes wrong (unclear what), the widget stalls. It keeps showing a red cross and cannot be used anymore.
Only solution is to delete the widget and install it again.

It can be reproduced by disabling connections from mobile to Homey. But it happens also when connection to Homey is fine.

Go for webhooks, Henk, with
Pretty Widget (Android 13+) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
But I have to say Home Assistant widgets show similar behaviour here! After one succesful command, this arrow appears and the widget doesn’t respond for a while.
Once I open the HA app, often (not always) the “arrowed” widgets works again…

So maybe it’s an Android issue, and not solely a Homey issue?

That could be a workaround, @Peter_Kawa. But I’d rather just use the Homey ones, with less configuration.

You problems with the HA widgets seem a bit different though. Mine stay in the same state, whatever I do.
Other widgets on my phone are working just fine…

Yeah it’s just a personal preference, I think it’s way nicer.

So your HA widgets work fine? I just got a “new” S21, and the HA widgets sometimes ‘malfunction’ exactly the same as with my S9.

I have no HA widgets, was referring to the Homey ones…

Ah! With “Mine stay in…” to me seemed to refer to HA widgets the way you wrote it.
