I was very encouraged to read recently that, with a recent Homey update, it is now possible to do OTA updates of devices without the use of hubs. So I decided to give it a try. With the exception of recent addition of Switchbot mini-hub, my policy has always been to not have any secondary hubs, so being able to do so is a major enhancement.
The record so far is
Sonoff TRV - system said firmware update available, so I took action to do so. Had to wake up by pressing button on TRV. Update was very slow but seemed to go through. Then at the end told me it had failed
IKEA - two STYRBAR switches update successfully. Had to press switch at a point to wake up. Updates successful. Third STYRBAR update failed but I will try again.
So many more to try and I will persist with these.
But now, my request is for a HOMEY enhancement. It would be really useful to see in one place what updates are available and needing execution. So, in the same way that I can see on a dashboard the battery statuses in one place, add a block to show the update status of all relevant devices. Perhaps even, ideally, optional between “All” and “Needing Update”
