Newbie question
I have a property that requires (many) mesh repeaters to deliver decent wifi coverage. Currently Alexa (or Homekit) sees most of my devices but automation/reporting is poor here…so I’m looking at Homey.
Should I host Homey on my home server and spend ££ on multiple homey bridges or try to make everything work over wifi (via Alexa or homekit)
have primarily Tuya and WiFi devices and I never had any issues with it or their Homey apps. Homey Bridge does not support many devices (AFAIK even the non-Pro Hue bridge supports more than Homey Bridge).
I would recommend WiFi/cloud-based devices in this case
just fyi @Ian_Brown
Homey Bridge is not capable of connecting local wifi devices.
It’s wifi radio is solely usable for connecting the Bridge to a Homey / Athom cloud.
Next, the Bridge can’t bridge zigbee & z-wave signals over wifi (if this was on your list). That is only possible for IR, 433MHz & Ble signals.
