Using Mistral AI (Le Chat) with Homey MCP Server

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some thoughts and a technical issue I’ve encountered while trying to integrate Mistral AI’s Le Chat with the new Homey MCP Server.

First, I’d like to express that I appreciate Homey’s move to the MCP Server. However, I believe it would be fantastic if Homey prioritized partnerships with European AI providers like Mistral or Lumo for AI-related features. Supporting European AI aligns with data privacy values and could foster innovation within the EU tech ecosystem. Maybe this is something to consider for future collaborations?

As a step in this direction, I’ve been experimenting with connecting Mistral’s Le Chat to the Homey MCP Server. However, I’ve run into a technical hurdle.
When querying the Homey MCP API for device data (e.g., my solar inverter or smart plugs), the response includes unexpected fields like "zone", that can’t be used by Le Chat.

Question to the Community:

  • Has anyone else tried integrating Mistral’s Le Chat with Homey MCP?

  • Did you encounter similar issues? If so, how did you work around them?

I’d love to hear your experiences, tips, or potential solutions.
