Use case for old Homey device

Recently I upgraded to the new Homey Pro 2023 from the Homey Pro 2019.
What can be a good use case to use this old Homey?
All suggestions are welcome.

1 backup in case of failure
2 differentiate between more and less critical flows
3 use to link with the new one (maybe in combination with 2)
4 use in a holiday home caravan or camper
5 satisfy you curiosity and open it up

Use it for app development

If you have BLE devices, you can place the old one near such devices. Install the BLE app and add the devices.
Then use HomeyLink on your HP23 to import the devices into the new Homey.

Put it at your parents house, buy a few motion sensors.
That way you can monitor if everything is OK.

I setup some alarms like:
If more than 1 hour in the bathroom

If not out of the bedroom at 08:30
If not in the bedroom at 24:00
Etc

That’s also a great idea :+1:t2:

Sounds reasonable, …
Greetings from Big Brother

It’s more concerned son, but ok…

In my case way to late, but it’s a good option…

I have two old homeys, still using them together with the new homey pro. Use them for the following:
-Led strip (energy meter, notifications)
-Speaker (good night, good morning, doorbell)

  • Added some zigbee devices on the old homeys because they keep leaving the network on the new homey.

Especially with the homesh apps you can do very nice things making them work together.
