Tuya fan with 433MHz

I have a generic ceiling fan that comes with a 433MHz RF remote. The fan has a WiFi which used to work at some point through the Tuya SmartLife app but doesn’t anymore and I can’t find a way to reset/reconnect.

Is there a way to control it in Homey through 433MHz?

Not sure about the RF remote. But I use a different workaround for my ceiling fan with Tuya Cloud and a virtual device. The speed is set in the virtual device and it then executes an ‘tap-to-run’-card in tuya.

That would require my fan being connected to WiFi and signed into Tuya cloud right? WiFi isn’t working for me on the fan.

Yes thats true. Isn’t wifi working because you can’t get it in discovery mode? I had that problem and could not find a solution on the internet. This is the way: Turn off the (main) power of the fan and turn on power again then press 1h + 4h until you hear the beeps, now you can add it to Tuya.

(Hope this also reach the people searching for a solution with the Tuya Ceiling Fan getting connected to the app)

Install the Brel app,
add the ‘remote’ as new device,
when asked for “push a button on the remote”, start the fan with the actual remote.
If you’re lucky, it gets recognised.

Got excited about this and tried. I hear the beeps but can’t find the fan on the Tuya app. I selected the Ceiling Fan WiFi and it doesn’t show up as a WiFi network

Hmm weird, sure it isn’t a bluetooth or zigbee only fan? When I reset my fan it automatically shows up in the discovery section in the top.

Sadly its Wifi only. Had it connected as WiFi earlier as well and no, doesn’t show up on the app.

Some other debugging; try to reset the fan again and see if it creates a wifi network that you can join. Tuya devices have 2 kinds of pairing modes. Discovery mode and/or joining the devices it’s created wifi network.

If this doesn’t work try @Peter_kawa his solution for 433mhz. If that also doesn’t work you can buy a new tuya fan module controller.

I get the beep after switching the mains off/on and holding the 1+4 button but no WiFi network is connected by the fan and it doesn’t show up in the discover mode either. I think the WiFi chip in it is toast as it had started dropping from WiFi before it went off completely.

I’ll look at the 433 solution. Thanks!
