Tiledash - Custom Dashboards

I want to have some wall-mounted dashboards in my house, but I couldn’t find anything that would fit my needs, so I started creating this custom dashboard solution a couple of months ago. It’s nowhere near finished yet, but I just wanted to show off what I have for now. It is called Tiledash.app.

It already has a lot of features:

  • All kinds of handy widgets
  • Energy dashboards
  • Future electricity prices and suggestions on when to start charging your car / drying your clothes / heavy power use
  • Thermostats, with nice animations
  • Custom widgets, so you can create your own, you can fully CSS animate them, but it supports liquid script as well.
  • Sharing of widgets with other users, for example if you create an amazingly animated weather icon, you can share that with other people, by just publishing it.
  • Full MCP server so you can let your favorite AI model create widgets for you.
  • Fully themeable
  • A map, because somehow we can’t get that in Homey :person_shrugging: . You can put anything that has coordinates on it.
  • Media players
  • Fully streaming cameras
  • Weather

Script editor

It also supports ‘wall panels’ which is a feature that allows you to select a couple of dashboards, and allow a paired device show those, for example I use Raspberry Pi Zero 2’s with a display to show some basic information around the house. Cheap hardware and easy to use.

These wallpanels also support sleep mode, so they fall back to a certain dashboard when asleep, in my case just a clock with power and solar usage on it.

Quick dash view, but there is so much more

Pairing a screen

A lot of this is free to use, you can connect 1 Homey, store a limited amount of recorded datapoints (for history, graphs, etc). Create 5 dashboards (a popup is a dashboard too) and can connect a single external screen. I hope this sounds fair.

If you want to develop your own widgets, you would need to subscribe, but at first I would discourage anyone from doing it, until the product is fully developed.
