Hi everyone, first post in the community forum. I am setting up my Homey Pro 2023 for the first time, its been going great and super simple. I’m trying to setup a Thirdreality R3 Presence Sensor and having a weird issue. No problems adding the device or even setting up in the app/flows. BUT the presence alarm does not seem to change. Is there a time frame for how long the device checks in? I’ve waited over 13 min and the presence alarm would not change. I hope someone has some insight. I loved this sensor in my Hubitat environment, but I’m loving homey and dont wanna go back. TYiA.
Curious is this is a polling frequency issue, I just unplugged it and its still showing online in the app… Just adding to my confusion. lol
Welcome!
Which app version?
Which protocol (like, zigbee)?
Issue seems to be reported 3 mo ago:
But apparently it’s not fully solved.
Please use the developers’ preferred way to report issues, in this case we should use the github link ![]()
No, it should report the first values after a few seconds/minutes, except for battery levels (when using zigbee f.i.) > these can take up to 24h to appear.
Usually Homey doesn’t poll, sensors send changed values to Homey;
in case something’s wrong with the connection, no event data arrives @ Homey (and there’s no error notification of any kind
)
For zigbee devices this is unfortunately completely normal @ Homey.
It just doesn’t consider, f.i. zigbee, devices to be offline / unreachable after a certain amount of time of no data traffic
Hey @Peter_Kawa , thank you for the quick response.
Homey App version: Android 10.0.0
Third Reality app version: 1.0.266
Protocol: Zigbee (but setup via the app when adding the device)
I will browse that other thread, thank you again!
If the issue with the ThirdReality Zigbee app is not yet fixed, you can also consider getting a ThirdReality Smart Hub Gen2+ and adding it using this app:
The presence sensor is not yet supported by the app, but I can definitely add support for it.
I’m hoping to not have too many external hubs, but I do like this sensor alot lol. Thanks I’ll try it out!
Ok so what does this hub and app do for me though I’m confused? Do I add the hub to the homey app? Or do I do it with it’s own app, add the sensor to the hub in that app? How can homey pair the sensor through the hub? Sorry I’m a little confused.
