[Testers needed] Graber / Bali blinds

Hi all,

We are looking into creating an official Homey App that adds support for Z-Wave blinds sold under the Graber / Bali name (both part of the Springs Window Fashions brand) on other side of the pond in Canada and the US.

These blinds are exclusively available from retailers such as The Home Depot and Lowe’s. Being a Netherlands-based company, acquiring them poses a significant challenge for us.

Consequently, we’re seeking Homey users who already own these blinds and are interested in participating in our App testing phase. Should you fit this description, we warmly invite you to respond in this thread! :raised_hands:

The only reason I bought Homey Pro was for that. I am happy to help if you tell me what you need. I am proficient with computers and software. I am a bit slow with Python but I code as well.

I have Graber and Bali.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi. Have you made any progress in developing a solution to control these blinds? I own several of them and would like to be able to control and integrate them into flows with Homey Pro. I had them working previously when I used Vera for my zwave setup.

Thanks

Did you already try searching for Bali in the Homey App Store?

There’s an App now!

Thanks. I will try it tonight. Do you know if, like when I used Vera, you have to install both the blinds and remotes for each blind, or just the blinds themselves. Both the blinds and remote are zwave.

You can connect the blinds and the remote independently. They don’t need to be paired or connected together.

I see the app allows for connection of the premium remote. I have the regular 2 button remote. In my experience, the remote needs to be connected to the blinds in order to control the blinds with the remote as well as with a zwave hub. Do you know if I will be able to connect the regular 2 button remote through the Bali app, or does it only allow connection of the premium remote?

We were unable to access the standard remotes for testing and development, so they are not currently supported in the app. However, the blinds can still be controlled without needing to connect the remotes to Homey.

Hi. I was able to connect the blinds to Homey and control them. Once I reconnected the standard remote to that blind I was no longer able to control the blind in Homey, just with the remote. Any suggestions? I would like to have the ability to control with either Homey or the remote like I could when I used Vera.
