I think that homey overall should do more in proactively monitoring devices. I often only notice that devices are not working when I need the (data from the) device. As homey keeps showing the last state of the device I’m even then not always triggered that there is an issue. I using some flows to monitor it myself. But this should be a build in feature.
Good suggestion, but not all devices can be monitored for that.
I have a lot of zigbee and 344 devices that only send data, not receive, and they only send data when something happens… Water leak sensor for example, or window sensors.
I try with the script suggested here ![]()
I love this idea. I have reoccurring problems with 433 Mhz sensors (yes I know it’s a crappy protocol) and it’s a pain to scroll through the device list to find devices that Homey has started to ignore.
Agree 100%!
Modern monitoring systems use pattern recognition. If you get a few notifications a day from your 433 device then is will give an alert if this does not happen for a whole day. The more predictable the usage of a device the easier it is to notice something is off.
@Paxman Yeah, with Homey you can check for unresponsive (one-way) sensors like this:
Contact
Motion
.
This card should do the trick, but it doesn’t work reliably at all (on both of my Homey’s):
