Support for Aliro 1.0?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if Homey has implemented the new Aliro standard? For example, for the Aqara U400 or Nuki Keypad 2 with NFC?

Have fun, MW

It appears to be a standard for enterprise access control systems, so I don’t think it will be implemented in a consumer-grade product like Homey

As far as I think I understand it, Aliro focuses on communication between a wallet (Google / Apple / Samsung) and a smart lock using either BLE, UWB or NFC (point to point communication). I don’t think Aliro has much to do with Homey aside from the fact that you would like to also have the lock in Homey and (un)lock it, but that should be done via another protocol (Matter over Thread for example for the Aqara U400).

I read this:

Seems to be oriented at enterprises/companies since they mention “commercial customers“

Aliro is a consumer standard, that is already available in some locks like the U400 and soon the Nuki Keypad 2 (which makes it compatible with most existing Nuki locks). Wether Homey will be able to setup and manage Aliro credentials is maybe a different topic. For the time being it seems more like something that is going to be managed via the lock vendors app and then stored in your ecosystems wallet (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet, etc). And Matter is then used to control the same lock independently of Aliro.
