Storage full

Hello

The storage of my homey pro 2019 is almost full (1.5gb used with max 1.6gb).

1gb is « other », 170mb for speach and rest is app

Any idea how I can free up storage ? I can’t find much info

Remove voices not used and apps that you dont use.

And choos a full firmware download.

I have only one voice and not so many apps installed so this is really strange.

Correct, pls contact Athom support for help Support | Homey

They can investigate the root cause if you contact them before doing the full firmware download.

No 1GB for “other” is way to much indeed.
170MB for “speech” is normal for 1 voice.

Just to compare:
This Homey is in heavy use for several years. “Other” is 285MB

My Homey Pro 2019 has also free space 7 MB.
It is not possible to make a back up so i have to remove first a lot of apps before i can make the back up.

But today, there was a yellow ring, after 20 seconds a red ring and that was it. Dead.
Now i have to go to setup my Homey 2023.
But all the flows are gone. of my 2019 Homey

update.
I have now Homey in recovery so lets see what is still working.

There is something going teribly wrong on this site of my network.
A device that i have added today to get updated did get the same ip adres as my Homey.
After holding Homey upside down and make a new connection to my network, It was starting again.
Also tried to make a backup and that worked. Even with 9MB Memory left.
Storage has 650MB left.

After a restart it takes about 5 minutes before Homey is showing the icons in the app.

I did a full reset in discovery mode and I restored a backup but it didn’t change anything - the storage « other » takes 1.5gb.

Looks like one of the app is putting a lot in this « other » …

What did Athom support say?

Apps have no access to “other”.

Athom told me to reset
Strange enough I deleted some app … and other decreased by 100mb

Some app-related data is probably stored in “other”, so when you remove an app that data will also be removed. But apps cannot write any data to “other”, they can’t access it.

But you can always remove apps to see if they make a significant change in the amount of “other” data that was stored (and if not, re-install the app again).

Other block is now 1.2gb … so 200mb were added since yesterday without me doing anything

Sounds like logs or a database growing uncontrollably, I guess that’s why Athom suggests doing a reset (“we don’t know either”).

@nytro @robertklep I once had around 500MB instead of 65MB data for Insights.
The Backup service wasn’t able to complete because of it.

They couldn’t find clues in the diag report I sent. Their first idea, “Try to reset to factory defaults and restore a backup” solved it.

It’s a bit odd there were “no clues” found in the diag report.
