SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS support

mprove SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS support – position and motor end-stop handling

I am using several SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS Zigbee Smart Roller Shutter Switches with Homey to control external screens/roller shutters.

The device works, but the current Homey support exposes too few of the capabilities that the MINI-ZBRBS actually provides.

Requested improvements

1. Full position control

Please expose the roller shutter position as a proper 0–100% value in Homey.

For example:

  • Open to 100%
  • Close to 0%
  • Move to 50%
  • Stop at the current position
  • Report the current position back to Homey

This would make it possible to use the screens properly in Advanced Flows.

2. Proper calibration support

The screen motors already have their own mechanical end stops and stop themselves correctly.

The MINI-ZBRBS also supports travel calibration. It would be very useful if the calibration function and the resulting position information were fully exposed through the Homey app.

3. Motor/relay status

One important issue is that the screen motor reaches its own mechanical end stop and stops, but the SONOFF relay output remains active.

The motor itself is therefore no longer running, but Homey still sees the output as active.

It would be useful if the Homey implementation handled the calibrated travel position correctly and turned the relay output off when the programmed movement has completed.

Why this matters

The MINI-ZBRBS is specifically designed as a roller-shutter/screen controller, and it has considerably more functionality than what is currently available through Homey.

Full support would make it possible to use these devices properly for:

  • precise screen positioning
  • stop commands
  • position-based Advanced Flows
  • reliable open/closed status
  • automatic screen scenes and schedules

I would really appreciate full support for the MINI-ZBRBS in the SONOFF Zigbee Homey app.

Thank you!

Hello Jan_Brede_Boen, and welcome!

I realize you are a new member, but I’d like to say it"s sort of pointless to create new topics for existing app devices when there’s a dedicated app topic available.
App developers don’t scan the complete forum all day  and other users can’t help you on this one.
When posting your request in the matching app topic, the dev gets nudged.

There’s multiple Sonoff apps by the way:
When it’s about an “official” app, look for contact info on the app page at the homey.app store as well, because not every app gets accompanied by a matching forum topic.
