Tried my best finding a resolution here in the forum, but didn’t succeed. If anyone can point me to an existing one, let me know!
I have an early 2023 Homey and have for a long time controlled my HUE lights with it. However, it stopped working some time back, and I now attempted to uninstall the app, re-install it, and add all the devices again.
My issue is that upon reinstallation, Homey cannot find the bridge and hence no devices. The same topic was discussed on Reddit here. It’s the same outcome for me that bridge isn’t recognised and no lights are found when trying to install them manually…
Does anyone have any tips on how to get this up and running?
If the issue is like the one reported in your reddit post where the page that show the bridge appears for less than a second and quickly disappears then I would try with Homey Web app https://my.homey.app
I would reach out to Homey support. While waiting for their response, there are couple of things to keep in mind or that you can explore:
Do you know if mDNS allowed on your network? This is how the Hue Bridge can be found. On Windows, you can use zeroconfServiceBrowser | Tobias Erichsen (tobias-erichsen.de) to see if you can find the Hue bridge listed.
Are you using the Official App with Hue Bridge: Philips Hue App for Homey | Homey or are you trying to add it using Matter (which also require the Hue bridge).
How is your network? Multiple networks / VLAN…? Are you for example also using Ethernet or Wifi for both the Hue Bridge AND Homey? If you are not 100% of your network setup, what is the internal IP address of each equipment involved? (Hue Bridge, Homey 2023 and smartphone or PC from which you try to add the bridge from)
Does the pop-up to add the Hue bridge quickly disappears like the video you shared in your first post or the page to select the Hue Bridge remains opens but is empty? If the second one, it’s more than likely related to mDNS I suppose.
Last friday i have created a support ticket, that I am not able to add the Hue bridge through matter on Homey 2023 version.
I have given them both fixed IP address and the are on the same network/vlan
Through the official app, i am able to add the devices through zigbee, but i want them through matter, as i get more configuration option with some devices.
The matter key isn’t working when i create one on the hue app and try to add this one in Homey by Matter.
I don’t know if this is exact the same issue, but I get the feeling that is looks like a lot the same. That is the reason why i respond in this threath.
Thanks all for helping. I ended up updating my Homey app to 12.2.0-rc.3 and this has solved the problem: I am now again seeing a screen pop up to let me select the Hue Bridge.
