i’m trying to control a device (Niko Home control devices) which is added to google home but not to Homey bridge. In other words, i would like to have a flow that enables/disables devices in google home. Can this be done?
(i know the other way around is possible: using google home to start a flow)
No. Only Pro 2023 and newer have the option to disable certain devices (they will dissappear from Ghome!)
No clue if that’s controllable by flows though.
Or do you mean to control the devices (on/off) from Homey Cloud?
That is possible when you ‘misuse’ a KaKu (Trust Smart Home) wall plug;
Have fun (to be clear: you don’t need any physical KaKu devices):
hmm, that didnt seem to work completely as i wanted:
although i’m able to add this virtual device in my Homey Bridge (Cloud), and then also see this device in Google Home, Google home does not allow me to use the state of that (virtual) device as a starter for an Google Home Automation (to set another Google Home device to either ON or OFF ).
Owww, bummer. I can’t test as I don’t own a bridge.
Try this: pick ‘Kettle’ at the “What’s plugged in” section from the wall plug device settings. A kettle device can start Ghome automations
When creating a new automation, make sure to not pick “personal”, but the family or household category.
Cool!
Yea, the “what’s plugged in” option turns a plug into a virtual [device type].
Like, when you pick “light”, it will show as light device, and it responds to “turn all lights off” commands and such, just like “real” lights.
