Ring Doorbell, Camera and Alarm support for Homey

I respond how I like, you don’t like it, remove my app and move on please.

Gladly, it’s already gone. For the record, I reported a real bug, you ignored it to lecture me about AI, and then you fixed exactly that bug a day later.
You were wrong, and your own changelog proves it. Users who take the time to report problems are doing you a favour.
Treating them with attitude like this is why people stop bothering.

Test version promoted to live version

Version: 2.14.30

  • Fixed Ring Alarm devices not loading on slow connections
  • Fixed doorbell ring and camera motion events no longer working

After 2.14.30, my Ring detection works again. Thanks @DaneedeKruyff

Hello Danee,

I’m having an authentication issue with the Ring community app on my Homey Pro.

My configuration:

  • Homey Pro

  • Ring community app (Danee de Kruyff)

  • App version: 2.14.30

  • Ring Alarm base station

The problem:

When I try to add my Ring Alarm base station to Homey:

  1. I enter my Ring email address and password.

  2. The authentication seems to work initially.

  3. The MFA verification screen briefly appears, asking me to enter the verification code.

  4. Before I can enter anything, Homey displays: “Authentication failed, please check your credentials.”

  5. No SMS verification code is ever received.

What I have already checked:

  • My Ring credentials are correct. I successfully logged in to ring.com using the same email and password.

  • Two-factor authentication is enabled.

  • SMS is selected as the verification method, and my phone number is correct.

  • The Ring app works normally on my iPhone.

  • I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Homey community app.

  • I tried the authentication process both on my iPhone and on a Mac using Chrome. The result is identical.

  • I restarted the Homey Ring app and reproduced the authentication failure.

Diagnostic report IDs:

  • Second report: 7a436c91-3718-4512-b101-814faea2af1f

  • Report generated immediately after reproducing the authentication failure: 1b7f3cc5-5d91-4fcd-8425-c4108b7df50c

Could you please check the latest diagnostic report and help me identify why the MFA process fails before I can enter the SMS verification code?

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,
Dévy

Combined with not receiving an sms message means the password is not accepted.

Do you use special characters in your password?

Yes, I do. I have € and a @.
