Danee,
Test version is tested and it is working. Although I do not use a Ring camera or a Ring bell but only the Alarm system V2.
Thanks for all the labor you have put in it.
Looking forward for what is more possible.

As a follow up to the previous post announcing the introduction of support for the Ring Alarm system which started with the addition of the Ring Contact Sensor.

Here’s what device to add:

If this is the first device you’re adding you’ll have to authorise at Ring, make sure to have your logon information available, otherwise the regular device add wizard is run.

After adding the device you can make your first flow with it, these are the flow cards available for the Ring Contact Sensor:

The motion reset timer is a fixed value which is set by Ring and can not be changed in the device.

Working again…. Started the app and no more timeouts…. Added all doorbells without issue. Wondering what it was….

Hi Jeffrey,

Good to read it is working again for you, thanks for reporting. Unfortunately I’m also wondering what it was as no changes were made to the Ring app.

Maybe, but that’s speculating, Ring is still busy migrating users from the old to the new API.

Hi Danee,

Hi, I have exactly the same problem, since the update to 2.11.17 no more connection between Ring doorbell and Homey.

What I did but without success, updated to version 2.12.1 , removed ring verification and reset and a Homey restart. Is it now known what should be the solution?

Grt Nico

Hi @Nico_P , the thing that worked for me is leave the app off for 24 hours. after that it seems some sort of migration in the ring backend was done that allows the app to use the new API for authentication.
I removed the authentication as per first post instruction and left it disabled for 24 hours.
after that you should enable the app again and re-authenticate the app by either repair on the ring doorbell or delete the doorbells before you start and re-add after enabling.
hope this helps

Thank you bug, I will try this.

Unfortunately, turning off the app and retracting authentication for 24 hours did not provide a solution. Are there any other ways?

Same thing here… :-/ tried all the “tricks”… flush authorized devices, wait 24 hours… and so on… Thing is… seems to be the same problem here with the “official” ring-app.

Since a couple of weeks changing modes with de Ring App for Homey doesn’t disable the motion detection even though it’s part of the Disarmed mode in the Ring app. This problem only occurs when de alarm mode is switched to disarmed by Homey and only when going from any armed mode to disarmed. Activation motion detection when arming the alarm, works fine. Any thought on how to solve this?

Hi @Nico_P, @Kristian_1,

Unfortunately I have no solution for you at this time. Purely speculative; I think Ring is still in the process of migrating from the old API to the new API.
For the users who had problems with the old app, the new app provides the solution, however for some users that had no problem with the old app, the new one gives them problems.
I’ve been troubleshooting this problem with a couple of users and in the end it just started working for them without any actual changes to the app or configurations. So, for now, I have no other advise then be patient, and I realise it’s annoying, from time to time remove the authorised devices from your Ring account and repair a Ring device in the Homey app to force a reauthorisation.

@Derk,

There’s no possibility in the Ring for Homey app to influence the motion detection for camera’s in the different modes, that happens on Rings side so I’m afraid I can’t help you with that.

Hello,
My Chime goes offline randomly (or disconnects from wifi).
However it doesn’t update its state in Homey and stays “on”.
I am though unable to reboot the plug I’ve connected it to.
Could you please update the Chime state when it’s disconnected/off ?

No, there is no other way to determine the chimes status then polling it on a regular basis, that’s not something I will add to the app.

Do you mean that there is a regular poll ? Because mine can go off for hours without Homey noticing it

No, I mean it would require a recurring poll. And that’s something I want to stay away from. I can see if anything has changed since the chime was added to the app, at that time no information from or about the Chime was sent from Ring.

New test version published

Test version: 2.12.2

  • Added Ring Alarm System support, now supporting Ring Contact Sensor and Ring Alarm Motion Detector

You’ll find test version of this app here: Ring | Homey

This version adds, next to the Contact Sensor, support for the Ring Alarm Motion Detector. It has the Motion Alarm and Tamper Alarm capabilities. Obviously the battery-level is also available.

This is the device to select when adding:

Again, if this is the first device you’re adding you’ll have to authorise at Ring, make sure to have your logon information available, otherwise the regular device add wizard is run.

After adding the device you can make your first flow with it, these are the flow cards available for the Ring Motion Detector:

@DaneedeKruyff With the new update with ringsecurity will this mean the ring keypad will also added to this app instead of the other app

Hi Mark,

Yes, I will most likely also make the Keypad available in this app, but it will not offer the same functionality as when it’s connected via Z-Wave as it is in the Ring Security app.

It will be added as part of the Ring Alarm System, and will most likely only offer the battery level (it does not expose much more when reading it from the Ring Alarm System) You will not be able to use it as a Keypad for Heimdall.

Hm okay

I thought that saves another app
