I have a handful of Alexa devices that I would like to replace with a custom solution. Alexa continues to get worse, less private and now featuring ads on the screen when I turn off a light or something. Furthermore Amazon has hinted at charging for Alexa which no way I’m going to pay you to spy on me.
99% of the time I’m launching custom flows and of that I’m mostly using custom routines because Alexa seems to get worse at basic stuff on a daily basis. If there was just a microphone with a trigger for a flow homey could solve this.
My overall question is has anyone else tried something like this and wondered if so they could share their ideas.
