Reolink Solar Cams

Hi all

Trying to figure out if it’s possible to toggle the PIR sensor of a Reolink solar/battery camera via Homey.

Background: I know battery-powered cameras can’t be integrated directly into Homey, but due to the location of my camera I had no choice but to go with a battery-powered model. So I’m looking for any workaround that gets me at least PIR on/off control.

Goal: enable/disable PIR via Flow, e.g. based on presence detection.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone managed to control PIR on/off for a Reolink battery camera through Homey?
  2. Is there a working workaround via Script or HTTP request?
  3. Any other creative solutions?

Appreciate any real-world experience, ideally with camera model mentioned so I know if it’s model-dependent.

Questions:

  1. Does PIR on/off show up as an Action Card in Homey Flow when the camera is connected through the Reolink Home Hub?
  2. Does anyone have this running in production and can confirm it works reliably?
  3. If not: is there a working workaround via Script or direct HTTP request to the Hub?

Appreciate any real-world experience, ideally with camera model mentioned so I know if it’s model-dependent.

There’s no cloud API that I can find, so it’s probably not possible unless you reverse engineer the mobile app communications

The Reolink battery-powered cameras can be connected to Homey when paired with a Home Hub or NVR. I’ve recently installed a few Argus 3 Ultra cameras together with a Home Hub, and the experience has been excellent so far. Definitely recommended.

An added benefit is that the cameras tend to achieve longer battery life when connected to a Home Hub. On top of that, you get centralized storage and management for all your recordings, making the overall setup much more convenient.

Hi Doekse Thanks for the feedback .Will go that way. One question left the Home Hub Mini will work as this one is recommended for Solar Cam " Home Hub Mini Reolink Battery-Powered Wi-Fi Cameras & E Series & Lumus Recommended" or do I need the Home Hub

The Home Hub Mini is also supported, so that should work!

Hi Doekse Got my Home Hub Mini. Cams are connected. Will try playing with the flows. THX for your help
