Push notifications with sound in advanced flow

I am looking for an option for advanced flows to send push notifications to “Everyone” or designated users with a:

  • short sound
  • text

e.g. when we set flow with camera to detect motion on the garden when no one is at home.
We can send a screenshot and a message. I’d also like to trigger a sound, e.g., alarm (https://samplefocus.com/samples/fire-alarm), through the dedicated Homey app on “everyone” or “someone” who has the app installed on their phone (no matter what manufacturer) will hear this sound

How to do it? Is it possible?

You can use the built in push notification flow cards to either:

  • send a text and image (passing an image token from your camera device)
  • Send a critical alert with text that will sound an alert even if the device is on silent

These cards push to the Homey app on any Homey user’s device and can be addressed to an individual user or everyone or everyone who’s home / away.

Currently you can’t use the built in flow cards to send a critical alert with an image. For more flexibility if needed there are various Homey apps to integrate other messaging services such as Pushover App for Homey | Homey (many others are available)

Note that for the built in critical alert notifications to work you have (for each Homey user’s account) go into More > permissions in the Homey app and enable the critical alert permission
