Philips Hue, without the bridge Control Philips Hue lights and accessories directly from Homey over Zigbee, no Philips Hue Bridge required. This is a community-maintained Homey app supporting a broad range of Philips Hue / Signify Zigbee lights, fixtures, lightstrips, plugs, sensors, switches and remotes. [image] Current status The app has undergone a substantial modernization during 2026, with updated Zigbee dependencies, improved lifecycle and battery handling, automated regression testing, new device support and additional native Hue functionality. Current releases: Live: v2.2.1 – Our current stable release. Test: v2.3.0 – Additional device support, occupancy improvements and remote availability refinements. App Store links: Live version Test version What’s new in v2.3.0? The latest update introduces support for several additional Hue products: Hue OmniGlow Lightstrip Hue Flux Lightstrip Hue White A60 LWA033 Hue White Ambiance E14 P45 LTU001 Hue White A60 LWF004 Experimental support for the Hue Wired Dimmer LWM007 It also includes improved motion/occupancy report handling, remote availability recovery based on actual incoming Zigbee traffic and additional regression coverage. Hardware testing is particularly welcome for OmniGlow, Flux and LWM007. Standard light controls are included for the new lightstrips, while native gradient functionality remains disabled until physically verified. LWM007 currently has experimental support for standard dimming and Push/Rocker configuration. Live v2.2.1 remains available for anyone who prefers to stay on the stable release. Development continues actively, with further improvements planned for upcoming versions. What the app supports Depending on the individual device, supported functionality includes: On/off, dimming, color and color temperature Power-on behaviour Motion and occupancy sensing Temperature and luminance Contact sensors Battery reporting Hue Dimmer Switches and Smart Buttons Tap Dial switches Wall Switch Modules Hue Wired Dimmer (experimental) Smart Plugs Selected native Hue effects, including Candle and Fireplace Selected gradient and multi-zone Hue products Homey Flow cards for device-specific actions and events All communication takes place directly over Homey’s Zigbee network. Important limitation This app is a direct Zigbee integration, not an implementation of the Philips Hue Bridge. Features depending on the Hue Bridge, Hue cloud services, video/audio or functionality not exposed through local Zigbee cannot automatically be supported. Support is based on each device’s actual Zigbee identity, endpoints, clusters and capabilities. Two visually identical Hue products may contain different hardware or firmware and require separate implementation or verification. Similarly, a supported device does not necessarily expose every feature available through the official Hue ecosystem. Supported devices There are now too many supported product IDs to maintain a reliable manual list in this forum post. The app covers a broad range of: White, White Ambiance and White & Color Ambiance lights GU10, E14 and E27 lamps Filament lamps Indoor and outdoor fixtures Lightstrips, including selected gradient products Motion and occupancy sensors Hue Contact Sensor Dimmer Switches, Smart Buttons and Tap Dial Wall Switch Modules Smart Plugs Multi-zone products such as Ensis and Twilight The driver definitions in GitHub are the authoritative source for exact supported Zigbee model IDs. Browse the GitHub repository Missing a device? If your Hue device pairs as a Generic Zigbee Device, we may be able to add support for it. A complete Zigbee interview makes this considerably easier. Add the device to Homey as a Generic Zigbee Device. Open Homey Developer Tools → Zigbee. Allow the interview to complete. Copy the interview data. Open a GitHub issue and include the modelId, manufacturerName, endpoint descriptors, input/output clusters and a link to the actual Hue product. Please remove any sensitive information, particularly the Zigbee network key, before sharing an interview. Bug reports, device requests and feature suggestions Please submit all requests and issues through GitHub rather than using this forum thread as an issue tracker. This includes: Bugs and unexpected behaviour Missing or unsupported Hue devices Feature requests Problems with existing Flow cards Regressions after an app update GitHub allows us to track the investigation, request additional information, link changes to specific issues and verify when something has actually been resolved. Open a GitHub issue or device request When reporting a problem, please include as much of the following as possible: Homey model and firmware version Installed app version (Live or Test) Exact Hue model / Zigbee modelId Expected behaviour versus actual behaviour Steps needed to reproduce the problem Relevant logs or Zigbee interview Whether the device worked correctly in an earlier version If possible, report Zigbee network/rejoin problems separately from capability, battery or Flow-card problems. They may have completely different underlying causes. If your issue already exists, please add your findings to the existing issue rather than creating a duplicate. Community discussion and general questions are, of course, still welcome here! Resetting Hue devices If a Hue device has previously been connected to a Philips Hue Bridge, it normally needs to be reset before it can join Homey’s Zigbee network directly. Depending on the product, this can usually be done through the Hue Bridge or a compatible Hue remote/reset procedure. It remains a community-maintained project and is not an official Philips Hue / Signify application. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed device interviews, testing, bug reports, pull requests and hardware verification over the years. The app would not support anywhere near this many Hue products without your help. I got a pm asking me how I handle Dimmer Switch and dimming of lights. This is how I handle it  First I create a Logic variable - name it “Dim up/down status” and make it a Yes/No type with default value of No Then I create five flows. Flow 1 - Dim up start When: Dimmer Switch Card - Dim buttons - Dim-up hold Then: Flow Card - Start “Dim up 20%” Flow 2 - Dim down start When: Dimmer Switch Card - Dim buttons - Dim-down hold Then: Flow Card - Start “Dim down 20%” Flow 3 - Dim up 20% When: Flow Card - This flow is started And: Logic Card - “Dim up/down status” is equal to Yes Then (first card): Select your Hue Light device - Set relative dim-level - set dim level to +20% and set During to 1 sec Then (second card): Flow Card - Start “Dim up 20%” after 1 sec Flow 4 - Dim down 20% When: Flow Card - This flow is started And: Logic Card - “Dim up/down status” is equal to Yes Then (first card): Select your Hue Light device - Set relative dim-level - set dim level to -20% and set During to 1 sec Then (second card): Flow Card - Start “Dim down 20%” after 1 sec Flow 5 - Dim stop When: Flow Card - This flow is started Then: Logic Card - Set “Dim up/down status” to No While setting up the cards you will have to save without setting all cards and go back later to be able to set what flow to start in what card since the flows must exist before pointing to them. You can tweak the experience by changing duration and %, Good luck and have fun

[image] johan_bendz: Hmm, I will have to look into that. I will have to do something to make it happen no matter  That would be great!!! :+1:t4:

[image] johan_bendz: Flow 2 - Dim down start When: Dimmer Switch Card - Dim buttons - Dim-down hold Then: Flow Card - Start “Dim down 20%” Sorry for the stupid question, but I only have the option “dim up” and not “dim down”. I also cannot negate the action card. I could only use the card “Set relative dimming level” and set a negative value. Edit: This post was written in mental absence! :joy:

@DirkG, not sure I follow you here… Do you not have the options below? [image] And yes, it’s the relative card you need to use.

Like I said before, a stupid question! I took another close look at the flows and now I understand it. :joy:

I use these flows: [image] [image] This is the setting on the action cards (and -10% for dimming down) [image] Dimming up or down works flawless by holding the dim buttons, the slight duration makes it all smooth.

@DirkG, you create and manage Logic variables under …(more)/Logic.

Yes I know that, but I don’t understand when you switch the variable to YES. In the 3rd and 4th flow the variable is already switched to YES. But whereof? In the 5th flow you set the variable to NO. But if you want to dimm the light again, the variable must be set to YES.

Haha… you are correct… I overdid it by using the variable… works just fine without it

Sorry @johan_bendz, another question.
How and when do you set the variable “Dim up/down status”?
