OTA for Matter, Zwave, Zigbee in new Homey Pro

My 11 myggbett are also updated. It took several times, but in the end all succeeded…

FINALLY got ONE Myggspray updated

Let’s see how she goes.

By now, all but one of the Ikea devices have been updated. Router devices work flawlessly, but I have often had to retry end devices. 9x myggbett, 5x myggspray, 8x kajplats, 1xbilresa.

Been trying to update 12 Ikea sensors for days now, 8 done, 4 to go. Think I’ve activated the update about 50 times now. Bit ridiculous…

These issues aren’t just happening with IKEA end devices

I’ve been trying to update an Eve Weather sensor since Thursday

Tried 3-4 times a day, still no luck

I think it’s just one of those features where Athom needs A LOT of external data to mature the firmware

Two IKEA Myggspray are now updated, however.

In the meantime, the latest myggbett has also been updated.

Since this was for my skylight, I placed it with Homey. Reset and registered it again via Android. Select update, press the sensor button, and start the update immediately. The update counter appears after 30 seconds. (PC shows no counter.)

(I couldn’t download the update without a reset. I tried several times.)

I’ve still had no luck updating any of the three Bilresa that I own

Anybody know or figured out when Homey scans existing devices for potential updates? Is there a schedule or how does it find out?

I’m asking because I had successfully updated all my devices. The list of potential updates in “settings” → “device updates” was empty with green check mark.

But the last days I added a few new IKEA MYGGBETT devices to Homey.

My expectation would be, that the “device updates” screen would show the new devices instantly after adding them. But the screen still only showed the green check mark almost 24 hours afterwards.

If I go to a new device directly (maintenance screen), it shows that an update is available for it.

And from that moment on, the device updates screen also shows it as available to update

But I might’ve already missed at least one device update this way, I’m not sure. And I’d rather not go through 30+ devices individually to check if I missed something.

So is there a regular interval at which Homey will check all devices for me or a function to “check all”? Also would be great if that check runs immediately when adding a new device.

It probably works similar to app updates (which get checked regularly based on an interval, not sure how fast but usually within a few hours of me publishing an app update, it’s installed on Homey via auto update)

For which homey devices is this supported? And is this supported for all the devices? or Only matter how do we know?

FYI

Only for Homey Pro 2023/2026/mini, SHS and Homey Cloud. Homey Pro 2016, 2018 and 2019 are not supported

Like @SunBeech stated, this is still to be announced.

Imho OTA updates for “all” the devices never will be supported, it depends on the availability and willingness of the manufacturers to share firmwares, and on how much effort Athom has to make to add support for certain brands / device models.
