Hi,
I’ve been trying to find a control panel/dashboard solution for my smart home for a while. And some time ago I started using Sharptools + android tablet with the Fully Kiosk browser/app.
It has served me quite well. But I’ve always had my hesitations towards having a tablet with battery constantly plugged into the wall (with risk of battery overheating). Another thing that keeps interest me is the ability to run a house intercom (I live in a house with 3 floors and being able to “intercom” the attic from the kitchen would be very useful and save my voice from screaming that dinner is done).
At this point I found the Nspanel Pro. Looks solid and has an intercom functionallity. And more important, its a sleek design that I think my wife will appreciate.
The problem I see is that there are no way to natively control my homey flows and devices from the Nspanel Pro. Or?
I’ve seen people do cool things with this device where they install custom OS on it etc. And sure I could probably spend 200 hours on getting a fraction of their technical competence and make a bad looking dashboard/controller. But then I would not have the intercom and might as well do a Pi solution with a cheap touchscreen.
So the CORE question I have is: is there a way for the Nspanel Pro to control homey devices/flows? I understand that its not ideal to set up the Nspanel pro as a new Zigbee network.
The frustrating thing is that there are basically only 2-3 devices from Homey that I want the Nspanel pro to be ble to control. And thats my lamp groups for each floor.
Help me Homey forum, you’re my only hope.
