No scrollbar in messages sent to user?

Hi,

I may have overlooked the possibility or maybe the question has been answered before, but I can´t find anything om the subject.

I send myself a status on temperature throughout our home every morning. It involves 17 lines of info, but the phone only displays 13 lines… So either I cram the info together and accept that it looks odd or remove info.

I haven´t found anything on a max number of lines or a way to enable scrolling. Does anyone have a solution?

Regards

Michael

Do you mean push notifications? The appearance of push notifications is managed by your phone, not the Homey app.

Yes I mean push notifications. It’s an issue on iOS, I Will check an Android later..

Can I enable scrolling in iOS?

If I remember correctly; iOS displays at most 178 characters before it truncates the message, that’s a platform limitation and Homey cannot do anything about it. There’s also no setting to increase this limit.

If I click the notification, it is displayed the same way in the homey app…

Surely that can’t be a limitation in iOS?

Well it depends… But generally yes, they should be able to display the full message, with a scrollbar, in the app.

You are right. 178 characters is mentioned as a limitation in iOS, with a lot of dependencies like number of lines, text formatting, pics included and so on.

And I tested on my Android, it is not a limitation on Android it works both in the homey app and in the notification area. Why the OS default limitation is replicated in the homey app, I don’t know. Maybe that is a question for support…

Thanks.
